I would like to make the assumption that every human being who walks this earth has a specific mindset and outlook on their life. Whether it’s good, bad, or they just live everyday life hanging on by a thread. Recently, I was asked in an interview what my favorite quote in the entire world would be and I was immediately thrown off by the question assuming I’d just be asked basic questions like, “how would you describe yourself?” or “what’s your biggest weakness?” I put quite the thought into trying to determine how I didn’t have a favorite off the top of my head considering they consume every inch of my planner and memory board in order to give me a bump of inspiration when I need it (or a good laugh).

So many times in our lives we try to fix things that simply do not need to be changed or adjusted and ultimately we actually end up screwing it up. If it’s reasonably successful and if it actually does justification for what it’s worth, then why would you even try and change it? Like if you order a vodka cranberry at the bar and it doesn’t have enough vodka, then you would definitely wanna get that fixed but if it’s something that can absolutely wait and doesn’t need any adjustments, be patient young grasshopper. With time, it will work itself out. I promise ya.

I guess this isn’t really relevant to any kind of inspiration other than the fact that if I could have a favorite quote, this one might win hands down.

I’ll be damned if that isn’t the greatest thing I have ever read. In the world we are living in today, everyone is unrealistically pressured to look a certain way, have a specific body type in order to be considered remotely attractive, have a specific look for social media, and the list could go on and on and on. It’s so important to be yourself and to genuinely love and appreciate yourself as a person. So thanks for that, Ralph.

Now I really hate to sound like I’m pushing being a good person but in the world we are living in today it’s SO important to make people feel unconditionally loved and appreciated because it’s something we lack thanks to our ignorant society. If you made someone feel special today, they will remember. If you made someone feel like they serve an amazing purpose in your life, they will remember. When you open your mouth to make a nasty comment or say something hateful try to evaluate how it will affect how they feel before because they will never shake that feeling and once you say it, you can never take it back. Trust me, I know.

I know this is a cheesy love quote but when I read it and dig into the meaning of it, I see it as so much more than that. I’m only 21 and I have been in one serious relationship along with another two that were basically shits and giggles so I am the very last (and when I say last I mean… LAST) person to come to for advice on loving another romantically. However, to me this quote holds special meaning in the sense that no matter what intimate moments you share with someone in your life and no matter how your opinion of them changes after that terrible breakup, it’s important you still remember the person he or she was when you dated and the good qualities in them you saw when you were crazy about them. Yes, breakups suck and yes they are miserable to go through but things change and people change. It’s inevitable.

To me, this hits home. When I think about my life and what the purpose of it is I’m not really sure what to think and sometimes I’m unsure of why I’m here at all. I’m not able to easily evaluate it and pull it together piece by piece because to me that’s not what living is. Life is meant to adventure, explore, and step outside of zones and boundaries you never imagined you would have the nerve to do and just go with it. Life is so short, why waste time trying to figure it out? Just be undeniably happy and stop existing, LIVE.
