11/23 What To Watch Over Thanksgiving Break

Now that Thanksgiving break has finally arrived, it's the perfect time to unwind with your one true love: Netflix. Thanksgiving break is the perfect time to rest up before finals. What better way to recharge than to binge watch your favorite show? In case you've had your fill of the same old show, here are some new ones you should consider!

1. Raising Hope

"Raising Hope" aired on Fox a few years ago and is one of the funniest family sitcoms around. The story focuses on a going-nowhere young man who has to raise his child conceived in a one night stand. This show tells the stories of the struggles and triumphs of the whole family as they try to raise Hope and it is guaranteed to make you laugh.

2. Jane The Virgin

"Jane the Virgin" is a dramady featuring Gina Rodriguez who was recently voted "The Next Big Thing" because of her stellar acting in the series. This show documents the devout Catholic young woman as she navigates life after an accidental medical insemination. This show is funny, yet has a strong sense of reality that will keep you coming back for more.

3. The 100

This dystopian story takes place in the future and follows 100 young teenagers as they get sent back to Earth from their home in space to see if humans can survive on what was once their homeland. This show explores tons of sci-fi concepts and suspense you'll easily blow through the entire two seasons on Netflix.

4. Doctor Who

Now you may believe that this show is strictly for nerds and people obsessed with the show on Tumblr, however, it is definitely a show for everyone. Doctor Who is a sci-fi adventure show that takes you on a journey through all of time and space. Although you may find the first few seasons hard to get through, the rest of the series is incredibly thrilling yet heartwarming at the same time.

5. iZombie

This show does not get enough credit for how cool it really is! A doctor with her whole life planned out suddenly gets turned into a zombie and she eats brains in order to solve murder mysteries. This show will make you grateful that zombies don't exist, or so we think.

6. Master of None

This show features Parks & Rec's very own Aziz Ansari as he acts as an actor living in New York City. This comedy shows the personal and professional life of the actor as he struggles to make decisions for himself. The episodes are only 29 minutes so it will be more than easy to complete the entire season in, like, a day...

7. The Office

Shout out to my hometown Scranton, PA with "The Office." If you've never watched this show, you've missed out on some serious laughs. Don't worry though, it's never too late to get caught up on the gossip at Dunder Mifflin.

8. Parks and Recreation

Another classic that can't be missed. Amy Poehler and the rest of the cast are simply hilarious and there is no reason you should not watch this show because it is amazing.

9. Grey's Anatomy

"Grey's Anatomy" seems to be every health science major's favorite show, and for good reason! This medical drama is addicting, somewhat educational and pretty much impossible to stop watching.

10. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is a hilarious story of Kimmy Schmidt who recently escaped an underground bunker in which she was held hostage for years and now has to face the real world in New York City. Watch Kimmy as she adjusts to real life and meets several unique characters along the way!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
