What I Want You To Know.

What I Want You To Know.
Huffington Post

Hey there. How are you doing today? I hope you're having fun working, studying, playing 2k, or whatever it is you're doing right now. You've been on my mind a lot lately, so I wanted to take the time to talk to you about your role in my life. Guys love to say "females are confusing." It must be hard trying to figure out what's going on in our heads. I'm going to do you a solid. Here are 9 things that I want you to know.

1. I'm young. I don't know exactly what I want.

I know I tweet about wanting a simple, quiet guy that will just watch Netflix and eat pizza rolls with me when I'm lonely. I know I put Chris Brown as my MCM on Instagram because he's a beautiful, bad boy with the voice of an angel. I know I flex on Snapchat saying the single life is the life for me. I know I do all these things. But, the truth is that I have no idea what I want yet. I'm young. I'm still trying to figure out if I even like my major.

2. But that doesn't mean I don't like you.

If I like you, I'll tell you! Just don't expect me to start throwing words like "forever" and "always" around. I'm young, get the trend here? I enjoy spending time with you, but let's face it. We have a lot going on in our lives right now. Anything can happen. SO, don't stress it! If we're meant to be together, we will be. Come what may.

3. I really appreciate honesty.

I'm always going to be 100 with you. I'm trying to get my degree and make that money! I don't have time for assumptions and miscommunication. We are so busy. It's extremely important to always be very blunt about how we're feeling. Don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. If you aren't happy with what we're doing, tell me. If I've been going nonstop for a few days and need to take a nap because I'm cranky, tell me. If that chicken I cooked is dry, tell me. If you don't see me in the next step of your life, please tell me! If we don't communicate, we will make assumptions. And you know what they say about assuming.

4. You are not my everything.

We have fun together. It's a possibility that we could have a future together. HOWEVER, I am a strong and independent young woman. I am ambitious. I have dreams and goals I want to achieve. If you want to grind with me, great! But, if you think that my world should revolve around you, honey you've got another thing coming.

5. Clearly, I'm sassy.

If you haven't already summed this up from my previous points, I'm one sassy lady. I know that when I do decide to commit to someone, I deserve respect and understanding. No, I'm not mean. No, I'm not conceited. I just know that I have things to accomplish and I won't let anyone stand in the way of that. We are too young to deal with unnecessary drama. If that's what you bring to the table, you can go home. I'm not afraid to eat alone.

6. I'm not afraid of commitment, I'm just careful with it.

Boyfriends are cool. I love boyfriends! They're good for the soul, well if you're with the right one. It blows my mind how other girls my age jump from guy to guy. I've been told a lot that I'm just scared to be with someone. That isn't true! I just don't see the point in fully committing my time and affection to someone unless I see a future with them. Lesbi-honest though, that doesn't happen very often. Just know that If I don't want to take that step with you, it's actually saving the both of us time and energy. Sure, we could date for a few months and have some fun. But, I don't see the point of that.

7. My education comes first right now.

You know the drill. Wake up, eat, rush to class, try not to fall asleep, eat, hit the library to study, eat, fight the urge to drop out, eat, crash into bed. Repeat. I don't really have a lot of free time. If we DO end up in a relationship, you have to understand that I won't be able to talk to you 24/7. Sometimes, I will choose studying over going to a movie with you. That in no way speaks of my affection for you.

8. Yes, I'm independent, but I still need you to be there for me.

I don't like to cry. That doesn't mean I don't need to sometimes. I'm strong willed and usually don't let things get me down. But, I'm just like any other girl. Sometimes my feelings get hurt or I feel as though I've been dealt an unfair card. At those times, I need you to be there for me. I like to be held and told everything is going to be okay. Don't let my sassiness fool you.

9. I'm young. I don't know exactly what I want.

I told you from the beginning. We might grow apart. I might realize that you're not what I want in my life. If I come to that realization, I promise to tell you immediately. I will never say bad things about you. I will never take our time together for granted. I wish you the best of luck and hope you find your forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
