Black Friday can be a stressful day, the deals are crazy, and so are the shoppers. For some (like my mom) it is a tradition to be a part of the hysteria that is Black Friday. Others maybe enjoy relaxing at home and taking advantage of the Cyber Monday deals. Or if you’re like me, you always spent Thanksgiving at grandma’s house and kids weren’t allowed to go Black Friday shopping. But, whether you always stay home or this year you’ve decided not to venture out to the stores, this article will make sure you’re not bored on Black Friday. Here's what I'd rather than go shopping on Black Friday and what you might prefer too:
1. Getting a head start on Christmas baking.
People spend hours upon hours baking cookies for their Christmas parties, why not put less stress on yourself by getting a head start on your Christmas baking? If you’re not quite ready to start actually baking you can use this time to buy the supplies and ingredients and prepare the cookie tins.
2. And on Christmas wrapping.
If you’re not into shopping on Black Friday then maybe you’ve already purchased some of your gifts. Use this time to wrap these already purchased presents (then you don’t have to worry about someone seeing their gift before the holidays).3. Taking a hike.
One of our family traditions is to go hiking on Black Friday. Grab your boots and put the leash on the dog and head to the nearest hiking trails. It may be a little chilly but its always lots of fun climbing to the top of the mountain with cousins.
4. Watching a movie.

5. Going skiing.
Especially if you’re up north the slopes are sure to be open! Grab your skis and winter hat and take a trip to your favorite ski lodge. Don’t forget to stop for some hot cocoa!
6. Enjoying a day at the spa.
Shopping on Black Friday can be stressful, so do the complete opposite! Spend a nice relaxing day at the spa with your best friend or relative. Treat yourself to a nice massage or facial and then get your toes done. The holiday season is stressful so take some time to yourself.
7. Get your Christmas tree.
Thanksgiving is over so that means it is officially Christmas season! You can now deck the halls and start by getting the tree. Put on some Christmas tunes and have fun decorating the tree and getting in the holiday spirit!
8. Sleeping in.
Or maybe you just want to spend the day sleeping. After stuffing yourself yesterday with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and pie you may just want to lie around and have a do-nothing-day!
Whatever you chose to do, be sure to have fun and remember to spend time with friends and family!
