After struggling through a period of finals, winter break is finally upon us. While some of us are going on vacation, most of us are probably going to be relaxing at home for the next couple of weeks (and by relaxing I mean sleeping for most of the day). However, this will become boring after a while, and eventually we need to get out of bed. There are plenty of things that you can do during winter break, and even though your bed might be nice, you'll get a lot more fun experiences if you do these before spring semester starts.
1. Hang out with friends from high school
Even though you'll miss your friends from college, visiting your friends from high school will still be just as rewarding.
2. Go on a road trip
Ok, you don't have to go to Vegas to have a good time, but there are many other destinations to drive to.
3. Try skiing or snowboarding
Skiing/snowboarding is a fun way to spend a winter break. You'll probably crash into a couple of things at first, but you'll have a ton of fun in the long run.
4. Apply for internships for next semester
If you want your resume to look nice before graduation, get a head start and apply for internships to build up your credibility.
5. Shop for the holidays (if you still haven't done that yet)
Seriously, Christmas and Hanukkah are a couple of days away.
6. Find a part-time job (if possible)
You're a college student- you probably don't have that much money. So get a head start for next semester and try to get a part-time job, no matter how much it hurts.
7. Start a new show on Netflix
This also applies all year round.
8. Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to spend some of your free time while giving back to the community. There are plenty of non-profit organizations that need help this time of year, and by volunteering you'll be providing a great service to the community.
9. Plan a Christmas or New Year's Party
Yeah, it requires some effort, but you'll have a blast if you are able to throw it successfully (although you might not remember it at the end).
10. Go out for a fun night
You have a month of free time- why not have some fun with friends and go out for a wild night.
