Now let's all catch our breath. But for real, WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED??? We all knew Stars Hallow was an acquired taste, but there was so much going on in those four episodes. Please do not read any further if you do not want any spoilers! Here is what we know now:
Lorelai and Luke are still together
Can I get an amen? It was so tough to watch what those two went through just to be together the first time and then watching it all fall apart. But the happy couple is bickering still ( all in good nature).
Kirk is still living with his mother and creating new businesses left and right
Kirk is just one of those people you want to give a hug and tell to get out a little it more. Surprisingly enough, Kirk is still with LuLu and things sound like they are still going great.
Logan Huntsberger still holds a special place in Rory's heart (maybe more than she wants)
At the end of season 7, Rory breaks things off with Logan because she felt she had to much to accomplish before settling down and getting married to him. But are surprised to see that when Rory says she is staying with DeDe in London, it is really Logan. Who I might add is engaged to be married!!
Richard Gilmore is no more
May he rest in peace. This event causes sparks to fly between Emily and Lorelai, which causes a huge rift between the two for quite some time. It is in the end, it is what finally brings the two together, closer than anyone could imagine.
Dean is married and has kids!?!
Rory finally runs into Dean in Doose's during the fourth episode. Rory's first love, her first real love that she has never really gotten over. Dean mentions how one of his kids has fallen in love and Rory say's it's nothing to worry about because it's just her first love. Earth to Rory, did you forget who this beautiful man was to you all those years ago?
Paris Geller is still.... well Paris
Paris finally appears when Lorelai and Luke decide to see what surrogacy is all about (which doesn't pane out). She still has that go get'em attitude that has scared off a few too many people. It is also surprising to hear that she really doesn't have it all together because she is divorced to Doyle and has two kids.
Rory is writing a book?
Rory has fallen short a few too many times in the journalist world and decides to step out of her comfort zone some. Even though permission to go ahead was denied by her mom at first, she still writes on. She whipped out the first three chapters in Richards old office and it only seemed fitting. And did I mention, she can't find her underwear and she can't buy any because she is broke?
Liz and TJ joined a vegetable cult?
Though neither character makes an appearance, they are mentioned joining a vegetable cult without knowing it. They are later kicked out of the cult because they were a little too weird. Now that means a lot coming from that cult. But do you expect anything less from them??
Hep Alien lives!!!
It was good to see Lane and crew incorporated into the show, even if it was short-lived. Go Lane for raising twins with Brian having a full-time job and playing in a band. That's a superhero if I ever saw one.
Lorelai is still holding onto her beloved Jeep
We all know how much Lorelai loves that Jeep of hers and Gypsy was shown yet again, trying to fix what really could not be fixed. Do you think Lorelai will ever get a new car?
Luke and Lorelai finally get married
That's right, after all this time our two lovebirds finally get married. It was so great to see Lorelai so happy to be with someone that was going to be there for her forever. She finally made to choice that she wanted to be with him, no one else was telling her what to do, and she wasn't just doing it because she was in the mood to. Congratulations you two!
And last but certainly not least, Rory's last words
Everyone has been talking about not ruining the last words of the series. But how can you NOT talk about that last sentence???? I wasn't expecting a cliffhanger, but I am hanging. I am hanging on by my pinky and I am going to just fall into nothingness. Rory has been through it all and then she get's another curveball? When is it going to end for this girl?
These epsiodes just left me wanting more, is that too much to ask? But the real question is, Is there more in store for the Gilmore Girls??? Only time will tell.
