The air begins changing, the leaves fall, and the pumpkins come out. As summer fades and fall begins, the time of year where it is socially acceptable to dress up like something or someone else emerges. Halloween started as the night before All Saints' Day has turned into an excuse for people to put on costumes and eat tons of candy.
Some people can spend all year trying to come up with a costume to wear for this singular day. Some costumes are clear and cute, while others are scary and brute. However there are some costumes that should be avoided. Some are insensitive and crude, others might be a little too scary for some to see. Instead of proving suggestions as to what trick-or-treaters should wear this Halloween, I am listing some of the scariest costumes out on the streets this holiday season.
1. Ryan Lochte
This costume is particularly fearsome. The 12-time Olympic medalist is walking the streets this holiday with his favorite spray can ready to defile everyone’s restrooms. This once well-respected swimmer made himself surprisingly scary this past summer Olympics after destroying a poor bar owner's restaurant then stating that someone in Rio mugged him and stole his wallet so he did not have to tell his mother about his stupidity. In fact, it is thanks to his stupidity that Mr. Lochte makes this fearsome list this year. Think of what this terrifying idiot would look like dancing on national television. Oh wait…
2. Cersei Lannister
If you are caught up with the immensely popular television show, Game of Thrones, this one’s a no brainer. Cersei is one terrifying lady. She makes this list because during season six, episode 10, the spectacular writers of the show, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, make the viewers feel as though they, themselves, will be the next ones killed off. Cersei is one of the most scary villains in TV history, not only because she is an evil mastermind, but because the writers get the viewers to kind of root for her.
3. Aaron Burr
This one is bound to cause all the Hamilton fans to scream. Mr. Burr, sir, makes this list for two reasons: Aaron Burr killed the adorable Lin Manuel Miranda’s version of Hamilton the Musical, and it is scary how amazing Tony award winner Leslie Odom Jr performed in this role. The show will never be the same without him.
4. Tomi Lahren
Miss Tomi Lahren causes most viewers to call out in fear whenever she opens her mouth. The 24-year-old political commentator’s ability to yell angrily at everything from men incapable of changing a tire to a football player refusing to honor the national anthem could cause any liberal, democrat, or moral person to cower in fear. Those dressed up like her during this Halloween season will be unable to allow any one of their friends to speak without telling them all of the horrible things about them (that are not true.)
5. Donald Trump
This Halloween costume (that sadly some people will actually dress up as) is the most fearsome of all. The troll doll that has claimed to make “America Great Again” has caused a sense of terror throughout the world for his claims of deporting every immigrant in the US (which would put our country billions and billions of dollars further in debt,) ramping up our country's nuclear energy program, and for grabbing women by the private parts against their will. This spooky man is one we should run away from this fall.
These are all very terrifying Halloween costumes that should not be worn this Halloween as courtesy of other trick-or-treaters. It is important to note that there are other costumes those dressing up this year should avoid, such racial stereotypes and inappropriate body parts. However the most horrifying costume someone could wear is…

The election is only eight days after Halloween. Voting is such an important part of America and is a privilege many had to fight and die in order for us to receive. No matter who you like or don’t, this right allowed for all citizens of our country is something that should not be ignored. Vote because you never know when it’s going to count.
