The first date can go two ways, really good or really bad. There’s never an in between when it comes to those types of situations. It can also be really awkward if you or the other person says or does the wrong thing. That’s why I’m writing this. Here are a few things you shouldn’t say or do on the first date.

1. Who are you voting for?

This is most definitely not the election to talk about.

2.“I googled you and...”

Don't admit to stalking. That's just creepy.

3. You’re paying right?

It really shouldn't matter. It's whoever takes out their card first.

4. So..do you want any kids?

You're dating not getting married.

5. What's your GPA?

It's a date, again, not an interview.

6. Do you believe in love at first sight?

You'll come off as that person stuck in fantasy world.

7. What happened between you and your ex?

You shouldn't even care.

8. What's your body count?

Ha.

9. Are those real?

It doesn't matter what you're referring to, it's still disrespectful.

10. How much do you make a year?

That's none of your business.

11. So what are we?

12. Don't be stupid

Just have fun and relax.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
