What You Need To Know About Brexit, Simplified

Imagine yourself in high school with a girlfriend. You’re really happy with your girlfriend, but all of a sudden your girlfriend asks 70 million people if she should break up with you. Turns out, 52% of the people say that she needs to break up with you, now. So she breaks up with you, and you’re heartbroken. You have no idea what to do next. I don’t know if you’ve been watching the news (I haven’t) but apparently there’s something exactly like this going on overseas in a big place called “Not America”, or Europe. There’s this place in Europe called Britain, which is made up of like 10 countries, and they all decided they don’t want to be part of Europe anymore. It’s tough, I know, but it’s their decision.

I’m not entirely sure what Brexit means. My first thought was Breakfast Exit, which I guess works, I guess Britain makes good breakfast. So apparently all of Britain leaves Europe. Now they don’t count as Europeans anymore. That means that they can’t trade anything with us, so say goodbye to tea. Anyways, money is gonna go down for them, meaning they won’t be rich anymore, so we can count them out for the next Olympics (like we needed to count them out anyways). So if they’re not Europeans, what are they, you ask? A bunch of idiots is what they are. Apparently everyone Googled what the EU (some organization that they dropped out of) was after voting to leave it, which just goes to show that not just us Americans are stupid. Granted, we are stupid, but so are other people too. Maybe after Trump gets elected we can find some way to make fun of how stupid they are. Anyways, so apparently also since they’re not in a “union” anymore people will lose their jobs. That can’t be good either.

Look, all I know is that the UK was with Europe and now they’re not. I don’t know about you, but I think if Europe was Taylor Swift, a new album would’ve come out by now about her tremendous breakup with the UK. That’s not good, you don’t want Taylor Swift writing a song about you, it won’t come off the radio for another 10 years. Then she’ll get a Grammy for it, and then you’ll feel like garbage for the rest of your life.

Basically, now that Britain is a separate entity from the rest of Europe, I feel like they’re gonna have a lot of trouble making new friends. I feel bad for them, they have no friends.

So altogether what’s going on here is Britain isn’t part of Europe, so they can’t do cool things like trade with other people or have certain jobs. But I guess they’re free and can do what they want as someone outside of an organization. So the way I see it, I don’t really know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
