What Your Most Used Emoji Says About You

There has been a lot of talk recently about emojis. The new iOS update gives us the option to change the skin and hair color of the most humanoid emojis, and also offers some alternative family and couple emojis. While this begs the question of where the line is going to be drawn (since the new gay and lesbian couple/family emojis are only available in generic emoji yellow), brunettes like myself are wondering when we will finally have representation in the realm of dancing girls with bunny ears emojis. When we are going to get that middle finger emoji that young people have been begging for?

Everyone has one emoji that is used far more often than the rest. Below is a description of what the emoji in the upper left hand corner of your recently used says about you.

Dancing girls with bunny ears: Your best friend looks vaguely like you and you want everyone to know about it.

Kissing face: You use this to denote the end of a conversation, but in a friendly way because you don't want the recipient to think you don't like them.

Flame: You don't want to think of a creative Instagram caption but want your friends to know that you think they're hot.

Smirking smiley: You're probably hitting on some unsuspecting girl. Stop that.

The smile with eyebrows: You want to denote that you're happy, but an approachable happy. That other one is just too much.

"Information desk girl": While that's its technical name, this fan favorite is used interchangeably as a hair flip or "look at how little I care about this thing." While the emoji has its time and place, if it is your #1 most used, you're probably intolerable in real life.

Any one of the moon faces: You only get on Twitter when you get back to where you left off on your Tumblr dashboard, or you are finished reading your daily Benedict Cumberbatch fan fiction.

Crying-from-laughing smiley: You're a white boy. You tweet this alongside a caption that says "I'm weak," and a Vine that is not particularly funny.

Hear/See/Speak No Evil monkey: Regardless of which one is #1, you regularly do moderately embarrassing things that are not quite embarrassing enough not to share on Twitter.

Raising hands in celebration: You're shocked when you wake up in time for class on Fridays, when you actually get a good grade on a test, or are just generally surprised that you're still alive. Keep on trucking on. You're an inspiration to us all.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
