I've been in college for two weeks and I've already decided its the coolest place ever. I also learned a lot in the first two weeks, and I am only beginning.
1.) Balance is needed.
They tell you to balance out your grades and sleep, but honestly everything needs to be balanced. Meals, snacks, remembering to drink water, and what days you do homework. If you dont figure out your balance you get tired and burnt out quick.
2.) Friends are easier to make than you'd think.
In high school making friends was terrifying. People judged you for everything, they were mean, and they generally didn't care about you. In college is completely opposite. You can make friends by just sitting next to some strangers in the student union. Also, nobody is judging you. Theyre actually probably of your razor scooter you took to class this morning.
3.) Nobody judges you.
You can come to class in PJs or all dolled up and nobody really cares honestly. If anything we praise you for having the confidence to come to class in PJs or for your effort to look nice because the rest of us show up in shorts and a t-shirt.
4.) The library is the best place on campus
This place is great to take a nap or to work on homework. I spend 90% of my time in the library because its just a great for me to be able to take a break.
5.) You get your 10,000 steps in daily.
On a slow day I walk around 4.5 miles, but on other days it can be anywhere from eight to ten miles.
6.) Notes are important.
Take good notes, but sometimes you have professors who don't really have lectures. They do class discussions. I'll let you all know what to do about those when I figure it out myself.
7.) Your professors are actually really cool people.
Maybe I just got blessed, but all of my professors make class a fun place to be. They keep us laughing, keep us engaged, and keep us motivated.
