How do you know when you’ve found your person? I’ll be happy to tell you. My best friend and I lived on the same floor freshman year and didn’t get along; we were way too similar to bond as nervous freshman. Lucky for us, we got close sophomore year and have never looked back. Here are just 21 ways that I know I’ve found my best friend:
- We’ve had the same crushes, same tinder matches, and the same make-outs without even knowing it.
- Because of this, to avoid tearing apart our friendship, we keep a “no kiss list.”
- Both of us still kiss who we want and our friendship survives.
- Cuddling is a way of life.
- I keep a spare toothbrush at her house.
- We bond over how much we hate our bodies.
- We also bond over how much we hate going to the Rec.
- She can convince me to do anything and go anywhere, unless I’ve already taken my bra off.
- I have her phone pass-code memorized, and her bank pin, too.
- We walk around campus holding hands and people probably wonder if we’re lesbians.
- We have a marriage pact for when we’re 40.
- Sometimes, I feel so alone that I want to change it to 30.
- She’s sent me Snapchats while pooping, and yes, I've screenshotted them.
- My friends have become her friends, and hers mine.
- She’s always there to tell me “come over, who cares about showering?”
- If I want taco bell at 2 A.M. or to order both a three-cheese blend and an extra-cheese pizza to see which one is better, she’s my girl. When I'm craving Mexican, she is always down.
- I’m now addicted to Jane the Virgin because of her.
- Sometimes, we want to punch each other in the face, but we’ll get over it in 6.7 seconds when we have something to tell each other.
- We’ve picked us each other’s slang; “LOL,” am I right?
- I honestly don’t know who is the bad influence on whom anymore.
- We may be in different sororities, but she's still my sister and she's everything I ever wanted.
