We've all heard of soulmates. Most people understand the word to mean the one true romantic partner that was meant for them. But more and more, our generation is taking on a new meaning for this word. We are the generation who wants to believe in love, but have trouble getting past the skepticism. We are the Tinder generation and we are here to stay.

But this isn't all bad, because those of us who are skeptical about real love have taken this word back. To us, a soulmate has become that person (or those people) without whom you no longer feel complete. The piece of the puzzle you didn't know you were missing until they showed up. The one that you need use no words to convey every thought to. Your best friends who go beyond being best friends. Truly, the only word you could use to describe them would be Soulmates.

This one is for those out there who we couldn't imagine life without since the day we found them. Personally, I see no reason why one can't have several of these people in their life. It's a simple concept to me. I have several people who I could not imagine life without, the pieces that I didn't know I was missing until they fit themselves perfectly into my life.

To those soulmates of ours that we couldn't live without, we love you! You make our lives complete. You are the opposite of the parts of ourselves we don't like and you are the perfect compliment to the parts of ourselves that we love. You make us the people that we are, and we will be doing everything we can for as long as we know you to show you how much you mean to us. And we hope that "as long as we know you" is for the rest of our mutual lives.

So here's to you, my beautiful and fantastic and intelligent and loving favorite people who exist in the world. And to everyone else who completes someone's life. Let's all remember to thank those who we couldn't get along without. Show them that we love them and that we couldn't do this thing called life without them now that we know how much they add to our lives.
