"What on earth is a Sing Song face?"
You may have noticed your once-cheerful friends have lost their usual happy glow and have been replaced by moody (ha), irritable, and grumpy versions of themselves. DON'T PANIC. Your lovely and socially-involved friends aren't lost - they'll be back to normal after a few days' hibernation after the final show, February 18th.
Here are some tips on how to get by in the meantime.
1. Approach carefully.
And preferably with Starbucks.
2. Don't ask how it's going.
It's bad. Just know that.
3. Offer help if they need it, show support if you can't.
Make sure they know you care about their struggles in this trying time.
4. Pick up a mantra.
"Just one more week", "I'm praying for you", and "it's going to be so great when it's all done" are good ones.
5. Don't plan anything in the morning.
Practices often end around 11:00 p.m. and there's inevitably homework or studying to do after. Sleep is a precious and scarce commodity.
6. Listen.
They probably have a LOT to say about Sing Song and that will only grow worse the closer we get to showtime.
7. Be patient when communicating.
Please allow 3-5 business days for responses to texts/emails/etc.
8. Remember your friend loves you!
The truth is, despite the busyness and stress they probably miss you a lot and are looking forward to the return to a normal routine. Hopefully with more sleep allocated.
9. Prepare yourself for very confusing snap stories of rehearsals.
10. Sympathy.
Gifts are always appreciated - chocolate, cough drops, tissues, snacks, Emergen-C, etc.
11. Find a new show to binge watch while your friends are gone.
Remember: "just one more week."
12. Buy your ticket.
Show your friends how much you support them and go to the show! After all this hard work, they deserve a little recognition. And aren't you at least a little curious about the crazy face paint? Trust me- Sing Song is definitely something you won't want to miss!
