There's no better feeling.

Mother's Day is a day to celebrate the maternal figures of the world and everything that they do for their children. Many people are close to their moms, but it is a rare and special scenario when someone can say that they are best friends with their mother. Fortunately for me, I am one of those people.

1. She is your biggest fan (and you're hers).

Your mom supports all of your decisions in life. After all, she just wants you to be happy. When all of your hard work pays off, she's the first one to congratulate you and you knew that she would be because she's been cheering you on the whole time. However, this isn't a one-way relationship. When you look at your mom and see everything that she juggles in her life, you're amazed by how she holds it all together so effortlessly.

2. She gives the best advice.

Your mom wants what's best for you. Whenever you have a problem, your mom is your go-to gal. She always knows just what to say to make you feel better and seems to have all of the answers to any problem that you throw at her.

3. Hanging out with her isn't a chore.

When you're not close with your mom, spending time with her can feel like another duty to check off your list. However, when your mom is your best friend, hanging out with her isn't something that you should do. It's something that you want to do.

4. You talk to her almost every day.

Whether it's in-person or over the phone, you find a way to talk to your mom every day. You tell each other everything, even those embarrassing or personal stories that most people hide from their parents. Your day doesn't feel complete until you speak with your mom at least once.

5. You always know how to make each other laugh.

Over the years, you and your mom have acquired plenty of inside jokes and you know each other well enough to know exactly how to get a chuckle out of one another. Even on your worst days, your mom can get you to laugh like nobody else can and it makes you so happy that you can do the same for her.

6. There's nobody else who you would rather be with.

No matter where you are or what you're doing, you wish that your mom could be there with you. Being with your mom gives you a sense of comfort that nothing else can. Her hugs, her voice, and her personality are all irreplaceable.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
