What Happened To Ever Girl?

The best part about being a tween in 2004

One of the biggest highlights of my childhood. If you remember this wonderful part of the 2000's, you are automatically my best friend.

So for those of you who don't know what Ever Girl is, it was a brand by Nickelodeon in 2004 for tween girls. It was to celebrate the lifestyle of tween girls. It started off as a virtual community, and in 2005 Kohls came out with a clothing line and dolls. At one point Gameboy Advance came out with a game, but honestly, the website was the best part of it all. But sadly, the website closed in 2006 for supposedly a makeover but never returned. Once in a while I still check, but at this point, it would break the internet if the website came back.

Now that we're all on the same page, let's take a trip down memory lane.

EverGirl by PLAY

The theme song famously sang by Swedish band, Play will always be your anthem. Click here to reminisce

And if you bought their DVD from Limited Too, you probably have seen two different music videos for the theme song including their school shoot. Click here.

Here these girls are bringing color and life into their school and society. Bringing joy to the early 2000s.

We've got Rosie and Anna over here slaying!

Look how happy they are! Squad Goals since 2004 <333

BUT it doesn't stop there, the DVD also included behind the scenes! Anais, Anna, Janet, and Rosie are all sporting their outfits from Limited Too, and Clickits bracelets they made themselves!

Ever Scopes

Ever girl highlighted 4 different lifestyles that many tweens may have such as sports, fashion, school, and music.

Flower: Ever Joy- All Ever Joy girls were fashionistas! They loved wearing the color pink, lots of sparkles, and shopping at Limited Too!

Bolt: Ever Skyee- Ever Skyee was one sporty chick! She was here to prove that you can play all the sports you want, get your head in the game, and still be girly and fabulous! Because girls play sports too!

Butterfly: Ever Hope- This gal is the most organized out of the squad! She was preppy, put school first, and always had things planned out! When she and her friends wanted to throw a party, she kept everyone on task with a to do list and budget!

Star: Ever Starr- Starr was a dreamer! Singing and playing the guitar was her passion! Her friends were always there cheering her on while recording in the studio!

EverGirl.com

In 2005, the only place I spent on the internet was EverGirl.com! You would create a user name, and once you had an account, you got to personalize your character!

You then would go take the quiz to see which scope you are! I wish I could take that quiz now because I'm very interested to know what I would be today! Back in 2005, I was Ever Starr, I loved to sing and write my own songs, I wasn't very good at it, but it made me happy! If I had to guess, I would probably be Ever Hope, but honestly, I feel that most college students are.

From there, you could play games, get to know Hope, Skyee, Joy, and Starr through their videos! There was also some cute stationary you can print out, wallpaper to download for your desktop! I spent hours every day on the website, and I miss it more than anything!

Sometimes I wonder what the website would be like if it still ran today if it returned from its hiatus. Would it be different in a good or bad way? Who knows. Perhaps it was best that it ended when it did. Maybe it was to only remember the good days. But it is certainly one of the few things I will always cherish in my memories!

Once an Ever Girl, always an Ever Girl!

And Remember...

"Never ever let them get the best of you cuz there ain't nothing you can't ever do! You can be whatever girl you wanna be!"

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
