What Happened To Being A Gentleman?

Men, let's bring back chivalry!

No one is perfect at being a nice person. But doesn't it seem like chivalry in society has taken a steep decline? It's like in the last ten years suddenly being sweet and kind to others especially women has become unpopular. Is it out of fashion? Does it make women feel weak? I am not sure exactly why. However, no matter what has caused the downturn on being gentlemanly I truly think it should be restored.

Guys lets stop being worried about getting called "soft" and care more about respecting and being sweet to the ladies. Being a gentleman is about honoring and respecting a woman or young lady. It's about the little things you do make her feel loved and safe. Or even outside of a romantic relationship it means watching out for them and making sure they know they have support and people who care.

Society has gotten us lost in this way of thinking that maybe girls feel controlled or lessened to second place when a guy acts like a gentleman. That is a lie! Every girl loves a simple gesture like holding a door open or getting the car door for them. You aren't being too sweet, you aren't saying you are the strongest so they have to submit. Being a gentleman is not about yourself its about the other person.

To all the girls out there, don't settle. Search for exactly what you want in a guy, know where you stand. Don't let the guy walk all over you or bring you down. That prince in shining armor is out there somewhere, I promise.

Respect and love are things all guys and girls seek inside even if they don't show it. Let's bring back the chivalry that everyone knows exist. After all, 'gentlemen' describes it perfectly. We must be "gentle men". There is a little bit of strong kingship in us all now let's show the ladies that.

The knight in shining armor cliche I think is actually a wonderful picture for us to follow us guys. Not showing off, but being the best and most honoring person we can for others. Being a gentleman is about putting others first and that doesn't make you weak, actually I think if you can put others first your strong for being able to do that.

Slow it down dudes. We can be cool, but we can also be caring. See that young lady who needs help? What about the mom with her kids at the grocery store and she needs another set of help with the groceries? Or maybe the girl that is overwhelmed with class and needs some tips? What if our actions could change someone's life forever?

Just think about that. Girls deserve our total respect. They deserve love. So how about it? Will you guys grow up? Can we finally bring back those bachelors and put on some manly armor and be chivalrous? Let's surprise the world with our behavior! Better yet let's show the ladies what true gentlemen look like.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
