If you don’t live under a rock, you probably know what a Nalgene is. If you don’t know what a Nalgene is, you probably just don’t know that it’s the name given to those large cylinder water bottles everyone carries around. Okay, so now we are all on the same page. Good.
My roommates and I literally have an entire shelf and bucket dedicated to our Nalgenes. And don’t even get us started on the number of splash guards circulating around the house (if you are an avid Nalgene user and don’t know what a splash guard, is get with the program). Yeah. You’re welcome.
I think you now understand the level of love my friends and I have for our Nalgenes. But, there is something kind of cool about these water bottles that is often overlooked—and that is the uniqueness of each of our Nalgenes and the ability for these water bottles to showcase our individual personalities.
I say this because everyone does something different with their Nalgene. Whether that’s adding string to the lid, customizing it online, placing stickers all over, or just buying a really unique color, I strangely enjoy the ability to see someone’s personality showcased through their Nalgene.
I asked my friends to send me some pics of their favorite water bottle they sport around so you get an idea of what exactly I’m saying. Based on these water bottles, I will classify the type of person they are and you’ll laugh and think “Dang. This is so accurate.” (Maybe not, but just flatter me) Watch.

So there you go. I hope you now see the implications your water bottle can have on your college life. Do you want to be sporty? Do you want to look sorority-ish, or do you hope to set the tone of camp counselor? Whatever your style may be, never be afraid to show people those true colors via Nalgene. Friends, I urge you, before you set out for your day on campus, think to yourself "What is my water saying about me?"
