It's that time of the year again, and many friends and family struggle with getting their college kids a gift for Christmas. We're definitely the hardest to shop for, so this list may help out a little!

1. Restaurant/Fast Food Giftcards

.

Chick-Fil-A, Olive Garden, Outback, Taco Bell, you name it. We need food more than anything.

2. Money

This may not seem like a thoughtful gift, but it sure is. Being a broke college student is hard, so we really appreciate any funds coming our way.

3. Concert Tickets

If there's anything we enjoy, it's a good concert. Whether it's tickets for Kanye, Jason Aldean, or Major Lazer, we will love to get a night out.

4. A Christmas Break Full of Absolutely Nothing

One of the best presents you can give us is letting us relax. Don't make us go to a bunch of Christmas events or a bunch of outings. Don't make us do chores all day. Don't make us make dinner. Just please let us kick back and relax. It'll be an amazing present to us.

5. A Puppy

We would cry tears of joy if we were surprised with a puppy for Christmas. Go to your local shelter and pick up a sweet pup to bring home to us! We'll learn responsibility and have a happy heart!

6. Shirt of The Month Subscription

If there's anything we love, it's t-shirts. Get us a shirt of the month subscription where we'll be sent a T-shirt every month. You can get it here.

7. Plane Ticket

Give us the gift of flying. Whether it's to come see you or to go on an adventure, a free plane ticket is something we need. You can purchase vouchers we can use anywhere or anytime.

8. Gas Gift Card

We use gas more than we drink water. Gift us with a gas gift card and we'll love you forever.

9. Socks

We all need socks. We used to hate getting them as a kid but now we love them. But we're never going to go to the store to get some. So please get us some socks, especially fuzzy ones for the winter!

10. Projector for TV and Movies

We always have people over. And the TV is always on. So if we had a projector to entertain the whole house, we would absolutely love it. We would play our Xbox on it. We would watch movies on it. And we would low-key watch it by ourselves when binge watching Netflix. Who needs a tv when we could have this?

11. Hangover Kit

For most of us, a hangover kit may have come in handy at least once. This is a DIY gift for which you can put things together like water, ginger ale, vitamin packs, mouthwash, ibuprofen, and antacids.'

12. Wake Up Light

This is a cool invention that most of us don't even know about, so we would love it for Christmas. Its “dawn simulator” gradually lights up a room so it feels like you’re waking with the sun in a natural sunrise without a loud, annoying alarm. It really does make a huge difference in one’s quality of sleep and ease in getting out of bed, especially during the longer dark months of winter, and trust me, we need it. It's perfect for those of us who hate getting up in the morning.

13. Letters of Encouragement

Even though most of us won't admit it, we get discouraged while at school. A lot. And what we need the most is a little pick-me-up. So write us letters to open whenever we're feeling down, I promise we'll appreciate it even if we may not show it. We need your love.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
