Regardless of your years of experience, all serious figure skaters have heard these things at least once from a non-skater. And, people, we are seriously tired of hearing it. Just because you watched the winter Olympics ONCE does not mean you are the next Michelle Kwan.

Sorry, NOT SORRY.

1) "Can you, like, skate backwards?"

2) "Does it hurt when you fall?"

... falling... on hard solid ice... seriously?

Choking. Blood nose. Ran over my finger with my blade.

But nah, I'm good.

3) "Can you do any tricks?"

Lol, yeah right. Just do a 3 point turn and people will be completely amazed.

4) "Do know how to do that thing where you jump and spin around?"

SORRY I DON'T SPEAK STUPID.

5) "You should be used to the cold."

Yes. I am now super-human and I never feel the temperature change.

6) "Are you going to the Olympics?"

Do you think before you speak,,,?

People everywhere... please... do not ask me if I can do a twirl. I'm begging you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
