Recently, there has been tremendous hype about a certain Queen B and her bodily functions while performing. Yep, that's right, Beyoncé sneezed!
A video has been circulating on pretty much all viable social media outlets showing the superstar pausing mid-song to sneeze. The response was an enormous wave of "Bless you's" from the stadium packed with 45,000 adoring fans.
Twitter went crazy! People could not believe what they had witnessed. Beyoncé sneezing?
I'm guessing that people probably ignored the line in B's song Partition, "I sneezed on the beat and the beat got sicker." If they did listen to it, the hype about her sneeze leads me to believe people must think that the star was fibbing about her body's natural response to allergens or the common cold virus.
But what is this response, and how could it have befallen a mega star like B?
To answer the first question, it's simple science. When irritants like dust, pollen, or dander get into a person's nose, the brain sends a message telling the body to get rid of it. Then, the lungs inhale a deep breath. Your chest tightens, the pressure builds up, and... ACHOO! The irritant is propelled out of the nose.
The second question may be a little harder to answer.
Normal people sneeze about one time per day. Celebrities like Beyoncé don't, especially not on their multi-million dollar tour and especially not in front of so many people. But, then, what could have happened on that fateful night that caused a sneeze to come out of the Queen's perfect nose?
I have a few theories.
The first is that obviously Bey thought a sneeze was necessary in order to sicken the beat. She's on the Formation Tour for cheese sake! I can't blame her for wanting to step up her beats to the next level because that's just the kind of artist that B is.
The second is that the woman parading around on stage couldn't possibly have been Beyoncé. Obviously, it's an imposter, and one whose nose is accustomed to sneezing in public. (This theory is a little messy because I can't quite figure out where the real B is...)
The final theory is the most boring and probably not the real reason. It could be that maybe, just maybe, a piece of dust or glitter got stuck in Bey's nose. Her body sent the message to her brain to get rid of it, and her body, being the wonderful functioning body that it is, sneezed. The dust was propelled from her body and the Queen could resume her reign of fabulousness.
But like I said, that's probably not actually what happened.
