Let's talk about Lady Gaga. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotto, Lady Gaga is a well-known singer who has been a huge influence in the music industry since she began. She came from humble beginnings. She was born in New York City in 1983. She began really becoming interested in music and even performed at her first nightclub at the age of 14. Her early career involved writing songs for other artists. She wasn't discovered until 2007 by Akon while she was performing at a nightclub. Between 2007 and 2008 she began writing her debut album.
It turned out to be a huge success and her career really took off. Her song "Just Dance" skyrocketed her to fame and made the top spot on the mainstream pop charts. The song was even nominated for a Grammy.
I have honestly been a fan since the beginning. She had been a big part of my music tastes growing up. Her quirky fashion sense really drew me in. She is more than an amazing singer. She is a really big inspiration not just to me but to many of her "monsters," the name of her fanbase. She is known affectionately as "Mother Monster" by her many fans.
Lady Gaga has been involved in many social movements, many of them involving the LBGTQ community. She has given many speeches involving social movements and social equality over the course of her career. She has reached many different viewers through her Twitter account. She uplifts other female singers and encourages them to follow their dreams. Sia has come under fire for "copying" Lady Gaga's style and instead of bashing her, Lady Gaga sent words of encouragement and said that she was a fantastic performer and singer.
Lady Gaga is very classy in the way she handles any backlash or rumors. There was a rumor that she was transgender. She made the Telephone music video with Beyonce and poked fun at this rumor in her music video. She really is a good sport.
Whenever I'm feeling discouraged I watch her Brave speech that she gave on stage. It is truly inspiring and uplifting. She came from such a humble background and remained humble even after she became famous. She praises God and her fans in all that she does and I absolutely love that. She encourages her fans that they can do anything and that she believes in them.
My inner fan girl freaked out when I found out that she was to be in American Horror Story. She killed it as expected. Her acting skills are only to be matched by her fantastic singing skills.
She truly is a fantastic human being and I'm so glad that she has been a huge influence on this generation.
