We Are Strong Women

In today's time, the world is so scary. When my parents were young and when they were teenagers they never worried about locking the doors at their house. They never had to look over their shoulders at someone who was walking the street with them to make sure that they were not going to attack them.

In today's world, you have to watch every single person who walks by you just in case they try to hurt you or steal your purse. Women from my generation have to worry every time they go outside if what they are going to wear is going to attract someone that we do not want. We have to watch everyone around us to make sure we are safe.

Women and girls from my generation should not have to sit there and worry about these things, we should be able to go out with our friends and have a good time. I recently watched a video about what to look for and how to defend ourselves from an attacker.

People went into jails and asked people who are rapists what would make certain women a target or not, and they said that they that would not go for people with short hair because there is not anything to grab them and keep them in a certain spot. They also said that they would not pursue people that made a lot of noise and fought back because that would be way too much work for them. Rapists and people like that will go for people who are easy targets, they go for people who are distracted and on their phones so that they never see their attacker coming until it is too late. And always give them your purse over your life or over you getting hurt because you can always replace what you lost in your purse, you cannot replace you or your health.

People always say to watch around you, especially when you get into your car. You need to look at the cars around you if there is a van near your car either get in on the opposite side of the car. Or you can go and get a guy or an officer of some sort to walk you to your car.

In today's world, women and girls should not have to be so cautious about what we do. We should be able to wear what we want and be able to walk around town without having to worry about the person who is walking in our direction. And no matter what our body type is we should not have to look at a person who we think could be an attacker and decide if we could be able to take them or get away from them. As I say that it is not the case for females so we have to know all of this information to be able to protect ourselves as much as we need to. Life means so much to us so we need to know how to make it last.

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
