Here we are again, it's cold season. And, best of all, I happened to develop a cold within a span of 12 hours. But, I'm not going to let it get me down (because let's be real, I'd fall way too behind on my assignments and wouldn't be able to rewatch Gossip Girl on Netflix). This is the best time to REALLY be needing your parents, because who doesn't love to be coddled? When I'm feeling under the weather, I love to ask my mom to bring me tea and soup while I catch up on all my favorite shows and movies. Now that I'm in college, I've had to think a few steps ahead because I can't always call my mom and ask her to take care of me. Here are my 3 go-to sick tips when I've had it up to here with assignments and discussion posts but I can't quite get my thoughts down on the page.

Always have snacks and fluids handy.

The last thing you need is to be constantly getting out of bed for snacks you can barely taste anymore and for your next sips of water. The best fix is to stay all tucked in surrounded by multiple boxes of tissues, snacks (if any), plenty of fluids, and whatever else you need to let your sickness run its course!

Speaking of, make sure to invest in a humidifier and some essential oils.

There's truly nothing like laying down and breathing in some peppermint essential oil from your favorite diffuser while binge-watching your new favorite show. The peppermint works to help clear your passageways and (bonus!) relieve any headaches you have from the built-up pressure in your sinuses. This can come in handy when you don't have a stove in your dorm to boil water and breathe in the steam. Showers are great for this purpose too!

Last but not least, buy some Lysol!

Trust me, you'll thank me later for this. I can't tell you how many times my roommates or I have been sick and we have Lysol'd and Clorox'd the absolute heck out of our apartment. Think about everything you touch on a daily basis: all the door handles, toilet, toilet paper holder, shower head, shower curtain, your bed, desk, laptop, PHONE, and how many other people also touch those things. You don't think much of it when you're not sick, but you sure do when all you can think about is how you can't breathe.

These tips don't seem like much, but they definitely come in handy when your friends have class or a club meeting and you don't have anyone else to run to the store to help you feel better! A word to the wise, stock up on cold-fighting essentials before move-in day so they're within an arm's reach!

The Unwritten Rules Of "Talking"

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
