Ways You Can Survive The Upcoming Semester

Us college students have so much stress in our lives from grades to our social lives that we have started learning how to manage our stress slowly, and hopefully this semester will not be as stressful as the last! There are many ways to survive this upcoming semester, but here are five of them!

1. Make A Schedule

We all should be organizing! Try scheduling your work hours, your classes, and a study time as well as other times! Being organized can hep tremendously!

2. Study For At Least 2 Hours For Each Class

Try studying for your classes if you haven't already. I know it's something we all dread and would rather spend the time watching Netflix instead, but it needs to be done! One of my math teachers suggested this at Asbury: "Schedule two hours for every class you have." It really helps a lot!

3. Plan Time With Friends And Homework Equally

Try planning time with friends and homework equally! Last semester was not that great for me, partially because I wanted to spend time with my friends and never made time for homework. One of my friends would constantly ask me to do homework with them. I couldn't--because for me and I know some of you can relate--I cannot do homework while talking with my friends or while watching TV. I tend to lose focus, and everything is too distracting. If you have this problem, I suggest managing your time wisely, maybe even equally!

4. Schedule A Sleep Time

Try going to bed early! Waking up refreshed is a great way to start the day, and is better for your body. Don't cram homework in until 1 a.m. Try the homework schedule described above, and go to sleep at a reasonable time. Your body will thank you!

5. Get A Tutor

If you've tried everything, but a tutor... Get a tutor! Maybe it'll help you get better grades, or help you understand something better. Don't keep yourself in the dark, or struggling!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
