How Nicholas Sparks Pulls At Our Heartstrings

Any Nicholas Sparks fanatic knows just how bad he can pull at the strings to your heart. Whether you're reading one of his books or watching the movie, you're sure to cry at one point, or maybe two. What started in 1995 with The Notebook, continues today. Whether you are a thirteen year old girl reading the book for a reading test or a thirty-two year old woman looking for a stress relief, Sparks always satisfies with a good cry. Here are 3 great Nicholas Sparks moments we can never forget;

Remember when Allie left town and her mom hid the letters Noah sent (not cool), and then years later Noah returns home but Allie is engaged? Yeah me too. But the great thing about this is the scene we come to where Noah yells his feelings at Allie but in a romantic kind of way. Here's what he says, "So it's not gonna be easy. It's gonna be really hard. We're gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? 30 years from now, 40 years from now. What's it look like? If it's with him, go. Go! I lost you once, I think I can do it again. If I thought that's what you really wanted. But don't you take the easy way out."

How about that time in A Walk to Remember, at the beginning, when Landon asks Jamie to help him and she replies with, "Just promise not to fall in love with me". Well that was easy for him to begin with. But then when he does fall for Jamie she has to tell him just how sick she is (Leukemia). And he loses it, because he doesn't want to lose her. The moment we learn how deep their love is is when Landon says, "I was in love with her, so deeply in love that I didn't care if she was sick. I didn't care that we wouldn't have long together. None of those things mattered to me. All I cared about was doing something that my heart had told me was the right thing to do. In my mind it was the first time God had ever spoken directly to me, and I knew I wasn't going to disobey."

And lastly let's talk about what Ronnie had to go through in The Last Song. Not only did she move to live with her dad that she was incredibly mad at, she then finds out he's very sick and soon to die. Knowing this she tries to patch up their father and daughter relationship while her relationship with her boyfriend, Will, goes down hill. She learns that Will and his friends are the ones who burned down the church her father was blamed for. With Will being gone for a while Ronnie really gets to know her dad, but all in too little of time. But here's what gets you, when her little brother yelled at their dad, "Are you going to say goodbye, cause I really don't want to hear it." With which his dad replies, "Good, because I'm not going to say it. I'm not going to say goodbye cause I am not going anywhere."

If these Nicholas Sparks moments haven't pulled tears from your eyes I don't know what would.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
