Yes go ahead and laugh at this fact that this article mentions me going hunting haha, but it does get my point across so bear with me.
Honestly, we say it all the time and don't even recognize who Wayne Gretzky is.
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." - Wayne Gretzky
It's so true. If we don't allow ourselves to take risks in life then we won't get the amazing results that are entirely meant for us and possible if we just jump!
A lot of my articles lately have been about new things for this new year and this just kind of adds to the list. Again, I really don't like New Year's resolutions but if that's what this is called then okay. I just like to think that a new year means that we can refresh our minds into being more optimistic and positive about the way we live our lives and the decisions that we make.
This is going to sound really country but I went hunting for the first time today and I was bound and determined to shoot something. I was so determined to shoot the biggest buck we saw and I wasn't going to go for anything else. I was extremely close-minded about it. So, when the only thing we saw was four does, a 4-point buck and a little fawn, I wasn't satisfied.
I wanted the biggest and best.
Not to say that there's anything wrong with shooting for the best and that you need to settle, but I now regret not shooting one of those huge does. I'm sitting here wishing I would have.
Yeah, sorry, that was a tad bit country but I'm saying this to simply explain my point. I'm not saying settle. But I am saying that if there is any sort of opportunity in front of you that will give you any positive outcome and positive experience then why not jump! There's always room to grow but life is full of lessons.
Moral of the story: don't miss opportunities only to regret them. But at the same time, if you do miss them then there is always going to be another! So don't be too down on yourself either way!
