Let's face it, we've all been there. Scrolling through Netflix, trying to find something to watch and relax, take a break from whatever us going on in your life. In my opinion, Netflix is one of the best inventions, there's so many options to choose from. And yet, sometimes it just seems like there is nothing to watch!

If you are like me, you are just about to finish your spring semester, and will have a lot more free time now that the summer is almost here. And what better to do than watch Netflix now that you are on break (not that you didn't watch it late at night procrastinating on whatever assignment is due the next day).

Sometimes, you are bored of your list and nothing looks good on your suggestions, so here are some perhaps hidden gems of movies and television shows on Netflix I think you will enjoy that you may not have seen before.

1. "Private Practice"

This show follows the woman we loved to hate, the one who broke up Merder temporarily. This is a spin-off from our favorite medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" following 'Satan,' or as she prefers, ruler of all that is evil, Derek's ex-wife, Addison Montgomery and her new life in L.A. post-Derek and Mark. Actually, she doesn't turn out to be that evil after all. It is similar to "Grey's Anatomy," after all it was written by Shonda Rhimes, but only with less surgery, and about the same amount of drama.

2. "Lipstick Jungle"

This is a "Sex and the City" -esque show that follows three women, one of which is played by the actress (Kim Raver) who played Teddy in "Grey's Anatomy." Also the actor who played Clay in "One Tree Hill" also makes appearances as the love interest to Nico (Kim Raver). Nico is an editor-in-chief for a popular magazine, Victory is a fashion designer and Wendy is a movie producer.

Overall, it's full of drama and how to manage your friendships, career, and personal life.

3. "Haven"

Audrey Parker, FBI agent, was sent to a small town called Haven. It was supposed to be a normal assignment with her leaving immediately after her job was done, but there was something about the town that made her curious to find out more. So, she stays and digs into the dark secrets of the town, a curse that causes the townspeople to develop supernatural powers that they call 'The Troubles'. It is based off the novel "The Colorado Kid" by Stephen King.

4. "Roswell"

Roswell, New Mexico is full of bizarre events. Max, a seemingly normal high school boy, saves Liz who is from dying from a bullet wound. Now he can't be that normal if he heals her after getting shot, right? Normal teenagers don't miraculously save his peers from death. This sci-fi alien drama from the late 90s is a must watch.

5. "Charmed"

After the death of their grandmother, three sisters find themselves stuck with magical powers, a new found identity, the Power of Three, and the fate of the world is now in their hands. No pressure. And you thought you had problems (JK).

6. "Life Unexpected"

Cate Cassidy was the valedictorian of her high school, the nerdy geek no one talked to. Little did they know, she was pregnant with the star quarterback's kid. She has a baby girl, and gives her up for adoption. However, she ended up in the foster care system, and comes back in 16 years to find her parents. She needs their signatures so she can get emancipated, but the judge ends up giving custody of Lux to her parents. Now they have to figure out how to make their new, unexpected, life work out.

7. "Stuck in Love"

Bill is stuck in love with his ex wife-who is remarried to a younger man and spies on them often. They have two kids together, high schooler Rusty who is looking for love and a daughter named Sam who doesn't talk to her mom anymore and is super cynical, and kinda slutty. She doesn't want to get attached or fall in love, she saw what it did to her parents. This movie is full of complicated relationships, that everyone can relate to, which is why you should be sure to check it out.

8. "Drive Me Crazy"

This is probably my all time favorite movie, and a definite go to for sleepovers. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. It follows Nicole, a girl who is fairly popular, and Chase the boy next door, former best friend, now bad boy loner. They team up to make each of their crushes jealous--by dating each other.

9. "The Gates"

"Teen Wolf" meets "Vampire Diaries" meets normal teenage kid. Charlie and his family move to a gated community, where his father is the new police chief. But there's a lot more going on behind the Gates than you think.

10. "The Tomorrow People"

"The Tomorrow People" follows a group of people who appear to be normal humans, but have the powers of telepathy, telekinesis and teleportation. These super humans are not welcome, they are hunted by a group called Ultra who wants to eradicate them from the human race. It is only one season, and is really different from a lot of other shows.

11. "The Joneses"

Sort of a similar plot line to "The Family" and "We're the Millers," the Joneses are con artists who move into rich towns, pretending to be something they aren't-a family- and get people to spend money, which then makes them a lot of money.

There's lots to watch on Netflix, so instead of always watching the same shows and movies, it's good to find something new and exciting to watch!
