In my two decades of life, I have been to Walt Disney World more times than I could even count. Even now as an adult, I have not gotten sick of it, and I know that I never will. It's home to me. It's an escape from reality. I mean, where else can you pretend you're an astronaut, pirate, or princess? Disney is such a wonderful place to visit, which is why it gets its name "The Happiest Place on Earth."
I have been to Disney with so many different people: friends, boyfriends, family, and even my high school class. There is absolutely no where else I would rather go on vacation, because no matter who I am with or what I am doing there, as soon as I walk down Main Street USA and see the castle, my heart skips a beat, and I get this sudden sense of relief. Nothing else in the world matters, because I am finally home again, and here's why:
1. The Fireworks
"Wishes" is the name of the fireworks show in Magic Kingdom and it is absolutely beautiful. These are not your average fireworks like you've seen on the 4th of July. Disney's fireworks are so magical and unique, and they vary based on the time of the year. For example, the show around Christmas time is completely different than just a regular summer night. You have to see it to believe it, because no picture will ever do it justice.
2. The Kindness
The cast-members do not get paid well at all. You can barely make a living off of what these people make working there. It's all about the kids, not the money. These people come to work every single day, sweating in their costumes from that intense Florida sun, making close to nothing, and they don't even care. It's about the experience, and the memories, and the impact that you have on these kids. There is nothing more heartwarming than that.
3. The Imagination
You are literally living in a fantasy. On Mission Space, you're an astronaut. On Expedition Everest, you're escaping from a yeti. On Pirates of the Caribbean, you're a pirate. You are actually going through Neverland on Peter Pan's Flight! You're basically living in your own fairytale book. You can be anything you want to be.
4. You're never too old for some fun
No age is "too old" for Disney World. There are some rides that are strictly for adults. Not everything is kid-friendly here. Kids and adults and all ages in between each experience their own personal moments. For kids, you could meet your hero. For adults, you get the chance to re-live your childhood. Heck, you don't even need to bring your child here with you! Take an "adults only" vacation, and I promise you'll still never run out of things to do.
5. The Outfits
You could wear fanny packs and knee-high socks and Mickey Mouse ears, like the typical tourist you are, and no one will judge you. If you want to feel the magic of the mouse, you might as well dress like him! Look around, we're all the same!6. The Traveling Experience
7. My Family Heirloom

My family has our own stone right in Magic Kingdom with our last name on it. Disney has been a part of my family for so many years that our name is permanently carved in the pavement of the park...literally! My grandpa is the reason that my whole family is Disney-obsessed. He started the trend. He passed away a few years after we got the family stone, and it's even more significant now. I genuinely believe that his spirit lives on in Disney World.
8. The Magic as a Whole
Everyone is smiling, all the time. The cast-members are always telling you to "have a magical day." How can you not be happy in a place like this? All of the foods you're eating are shaped like Mickey, and you get to hug characters from your favorite Disney movies. It doesn't get any better than that.Disney is, hands down, my favorite place in the world. I know each and every path of the property like the back of my hand. Sometimes I even think my friends are embarrassed by how obsessed my family and I are with Disney. You could walk into our bathroom at home and you'll feel like you're in a bathroom in one of the Disney resorts. The towels, the posters, the shower curtains --there's Mickey Mouse everywhere and I'm not even ashamed. The only thing that would really make Disney my second home is if they would just let me move into Cinderella's Castle (a girl could only dream).
I highly recommend a trip here at least once in your life. You haven't fully lived until you've experienced the magic of Walt Disney World.
