Waiting On The World To Change
NY Daily News

I'm sure everyone's aware of the most recent current events. Actually i'm 100% sure everyone knows, because God forbid someone drop their cell phone for more than five seconds. As for most current events that spark in the media, all of a sudden everyone's so in touch with worldly issues. Please, refrain from jumping on the bandwagon- this isn't the Super Bowl. Before you start spewing word vomit on Facebook, make sure you actually sound half educated.

The world we live in today is twisted and filled with hate.

I don't care if you don't agree with abortion, you shouldn't be blowing abortion clinics to pieces. Don't agree with being homosexual? Then don't be homosexual and mind your own business. Don't like tattoos? Then don't look at them.

The list goes on and on. The world is filled with closed minded, hateful human beings and if those people learned to love a little more and hate a little less maybe it would be easier for us to stand together as a nation when tragedies happen.

Instead, we have "I'm glad the gay club blew up, less filthy gays." Are you joking? You're sickening and make the rest of the country look like pigs. In no way after that statement should you feel like you can say "MURICA" because all you're doing is making America look like trash. Don't worry, people will still use this as an opportunity to promote their views on gun control, sexuality and religion most of which, again are not in the least bit educated about. Those kinds of people are the ones that see one side on the media and run with it.

Has anyone seen the "Brock Turner family Support" Facebook group? Makes my stomach churn. All of a sudden he's the exception to being a rapist because America is missing out on the next Olympic gold medalist swimmer. Everyone makes mistakes? Seriously? Yeah, sure I probably shouldn't have ran that red light earlier today, but ya know everyone makes mistakes. We'll just let that poor girl take the blame for his "mistake." The publicity this guy is getting is ridiculous and just think about all the other sexual assaults and rapes that occur every single day that get overlooked and are kept on the hush.

Then we have the Presidential election, which if you ask me might as well be a reality TV show. At this point it makes The Jersey Shore look good. Has anyone seen that quote "I don't think America should elect a President this term, we should stay single for a few years and find ourselves?" Preach. I'll be the first to tell you I don't agree with Politics and please don't try and persuade me that my vote counts, as much as it may, i'm still not registering. I'm extremely tired of seeing political arguments and I want absolutely nothing to do with it especially when the candidates are arguing over Twitter.

What about all the other things that don't make the media, that don't make the front page, that don't get a trending hashtag on Twitter? For crying out loud, half of America was just arguing over a damn gorilla. Nothing good ever makes the front lines. Because this world feeds on hatred and that's the problem. We can't pull our heads out of our asses for five seconds to see someone else's point of view. Instead of giving the heroes the headlines and the publicity, such as the cop that saved a victim from the Orlando shooting, we give disgusting rapists all of it. Then after that we let the future leaders of our country bash each other and act like rude, ignorant pricks because that's setting a great example for this already down the drain country.

Reality check America, we are single handedly ruining ourselves, our country and our planet. Let's stop blaming everyone BUT ourselves, take some responsibility and make some change.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
