My Review:
I planned a trip to Florida a few months ago to find out two weeks before my trip that a new park was opening two days before I leave.
Volcano Bay is the third park addition to Universal Studios, and I must say--it was probably the best of them all. Not only does Volcano Bay consist of eighteen rides, but also you can go for a thrill by going on their rides or laying back and relaxing by their beach-like pools. You get the best of both worlds there! Here are my thoughts of Universal's newest addition:
The Food:
Their food was great! To my surprised, it was not overpriced. A meal was about $10.99 per person and you get A LOT of food. To top it off, it was good food too.
The Hygiene:
The cleanliness of the park was great! Their bathrooms were constantly being cleaned, and I loved the fact that they had showers stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and soap so you can get cleaned up right after being in the park all day. On my last day, I left the park at 7 PM and had to be at the airport by 8:30 PM, so I took a shower and freshened up to get ready for my flight and be comfortable since I had to check out of my hotel at 11 AM.
The Staff:
Believe it or not, there was not one person working there that was not nice to me. I walked in the park and was immediately greeted by everyone. I went to eat and everyone welcomed me and warmly asked if I needed anything. When I left, many of the employees went out of their way to thank me for coming and wanted to know whether I had a good time.
The Rides:
WERE AWESOME! Most water slides are not that exciting, but if you're the type of person who loves the adrenaline rush, there were plenty of water slides that were ridiculously high up, making you nervous to go down.
The Price:
To my surprise, the park wasn't too expensive. Admission to the park was only $67 before tax and being a park of Universal Studios, it's quite surprising. Animal Kingdom and Sea World's admission prices are a lot higher and not as fun to go to compared to Volcano Bay.
My Only Complaint:
If you decide to go there, make sure that you bring a towel with you! You might be wondering why since it is a waterpark and NORMALLY waterparks supply you with these necessary additions that are needed in one...but they don't. If you need a towel, you can either rent one or buy one for around $26-28 (which is ridiculous). Although I try to be understanding, I don't get why a waterpark would not give people towels to use in the park. So make sure you bring your own!
The Overall Experience:
It was great! I absolutely loved the resort feel of the park. It didn't just feel like a park-- it felt more like a resort with a lot of fun things to do. If you wanted to relax, you can. If you wanna be daring and go on rides, you can do that too. There's a lot you can do there and being able to wait in line without actually having to wait in line is pretty great too.
Being that I went on opening day, there were times where I had to wait in huge lines to get on a ride, but then again, it was opening day. So I tried not to let it get to me because I should've expected that.
Overall — book your tickets right away!
