Valentine’s day, Galentine’s Day, Single Awareness Day – whatever you want to call it – is quickly approaching. Whether you’re spending this day with a significant other, best friend, parent, co-worker, or even yourself, there are plenty of exciting and romantic things to do in Huntsville this February.
1.The Classic Date: Treat yourself, your ladies, or your man to a night on the town with a great movie at The Monaco at Bridge Street Towne Center in Huntsville. This modern and romantic theatre offers the latest blockbusters and even has a special screening room for those of the (ahem) drinking age.
2.Year of the Food: Huntsville has an incredible food palette. Make reservations at one of the hottest restaurants the 256 has to offer – Cotton Row. This restaurant offers the perfect date atmosphere of comfort and elegance (and amazing food). Check out Connor’s Steakhouse, 1892 East, and The Melting Pot.
3.For The Starving Artist: Spirted Art offers unique painting classes for all ages – and they pair the painting with wine. These paint parties are laid back and are a perfect way to spend the Valentine’s day with your friends, mom, or that special someone in your life.
4.Coffee Shop Love: Coffee sounds great anytime of the year to be honest. Luckily, Huntsville offers a great selection of mainstream and locally owned coffee and tea shops such as Olde Towne Coffee Shoppe.
5.Ice, Ice, Baby: If you want a One Direction style romance (or if you want to imagine your boo is Harry Styles) check out Brenton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex for a date filled with love, laughter, and maybe happily ever after (or a trip to the emergency room).
6.Spare Me A Kiss: Who doesn’t love bowling? If this is your first or second date, bowling is a great way to break the ice with some friendly competition.
7.Bar Scene: Huntsville has fantastic night life. There’s plenty of bars and breweries to explore. If you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day with your friends, be sure to include some of the most popular bars in your agenda for the evening.
8.Always Bring Me Flowers: Every girl loves flowers (well, almost every girl). The Botanical Gardens in Huntsville offers a wonderful date experience for couples of all ages. With plenty of attractions and beautiful blooms to explore, you can’t go wrong by taking your date here.
9.If You’re a Nerd, I’m a Nerd: True story: one of the first dates my husband ever took me on was an all day visit to the Space and Rocket Center. If you and your significant other are both fans of space, cool attractions, or aerospace engineering, this date is a must. Plus, they offer a student discount.
10.Paint Me Like One of Your…: The Huntsville Museum of Art is filled with beautiful paintings, sculptures, and works of design that are sure to keep you and your date occupied for Valentine’s Date. There’s nothing more exciting than appreciating the arts and seeing the intellectual side of your love.
11.When I Say Jump: If you’re adventurous and aren’t afraid to jump around for a few hours, Shakalaka’s Trampoline Park is a great way for a group of friends or couples to spend time together.
1.Naturally in Love: Huntsville offers many wonderful nature and hiking trails. Pack a picnic and head out to the Nature Trails at Green Mountain, Monte Sano State Park, or Harmony Park Safari for a date you’ll never forget.
2.Date Night In: Are you spending Valentine’s day by yourself or do you and your boo thang enjoy spending nights in at home? The Huntsville/Madison are has a fantastic selection of pizza places such as Sam and Greg’s and Pie in the Sky. Grab a pizza and a movie from Redbox and you’re set!
3.Shop Till You Drop: Bridge Street in Huntsville has plenty of options of shopping, entertainment, and dining. You’ll run out of money before you run out of things to do (literally). This outdoor mall is equipped with stores ranging from J. Crew to Kate Spade to the Chocolate Crocodile. Your night will be one to remember!
4.Go Exploring: Huntsville is filled with history and beautiful architecture. There’s a fantastic food scene and amazing night life. Spend the evening browsing the historic district, trying random restaurants, and spending time with the people who matter the most to you!
