Why You Shouldn't Hate Valentines Day Just Because You're Single

It is an initial thought connected to valentines day that you must be in a relationship of some sort, and if you aren't, it is looked at as very sad. This is the cause of Valentines Day depression for singles. Yes, it is known as a day of love, but that doesn't mean it has to be love for a significant other. There are so many things and people that deserve love in your lives even without that title, and Valentine's Day is as good a day as any to show that love. Besides that, candy is on sale, and why wouldn't you be happy about that?

For me, I know there isn't anybody in this world that I love more than my friends. I'll spoil them as much as I would any boyfriend, and that's the way I believe it should be. If you're lucky enough to have your friends with you on this day of love, use the opportunity to do something fun with them. Go to dinner, go on a hike, go to a spa, watch movies, have a photoshoot, bake, go shopping, anything you do that means you can spend time with your best friends is something fantastic. If you don't show your love to your friends too often, make Valentines Day the day to show them how much they mean to you and how grateful you are for them. I know I will.

Other people that deserve love on Valentine's Day from you are your parents! Not everyone shows love to their parents all the time, and that doesn't mean they're doing anything wrong, but if you're not showing your appreciation too much, Valentine's Day is a great time to do just that. Make them breakfast, a card, a gift, dinner, etc. Parents are suckers for anything homemade by their kids, it really is the thought that counts to them.

Most importantly, show yourself some love on Valentines Day! It is very easy to forget to show yourself love and care, but that's something everyone should be doing. It is easy to dread and get sad on this day of the year if you are not in a relationship and to feel like you are missing out on something significant. You don't need to feel this way. Change your definition of Valentines Day to being a holiday to show yourself love (as well as others in your life we have discussed). Make it a day to treat yourself! Taking care of yourself can change your mood so much, it can make you feel important and so much happier and in control of your life. It can be hard for some to get the motivation and mindset to really do this, but it is so so worth it.

Whether you're single or not, don't forget to shower love over anyone in your life who you know deserves it. And always shower love over yourself. Nobody's going to love you like yourself, and you deserve to be spoiled for that. Happy Valentine's Day everybody.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
