Posting on Social Media
Posting on social media can reveal what we are as individuals.
This is a response article to "It's Okay To Post For The Wrong Reasons, Just Be Aware Of It."
I'm usually on social media everyday checking what people are up to and following my favorite brands and content creators. Whenever I see people post something, I'm just assuming that's what they were thinking of or that's what they support. Or they just post for validation and to showcase others what they are up to. People will always have a reason to post. I don't think there's a wrong reason of why people will post something.
For me, I usually post stuff that I'm thinking of or how I feeling. For example, I would post inspiring quotes from my @quotesforyouproject or from other creator quote accounts that resonates with me and showcase my followers how I feel. Other times when I post pictures of myself or my work, I do it to showcase people what I've been up to and what I look like currently as I continue to get older. I tend to be on Instagram the most because I follow a lot of people on there and I tend to post the most on that app, whether it's my stories, pictures, or reels. I consider Instagram more like my personal journal and blog that I can easily look back on. It's a record of my life since I started using it since 2013.
Of course, I'm on other social media apps like Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn. I barely post on Facebook and Twitter since I don't find them appealing and not many people I know of are on there that much. I do post Tik Tok videos once in a while just for fun and to show off my dance skills. I'm still trying to grow on there but it takes time and it's definitely work for me to create a Tik Tok video and post on there. Same thing for YouTube and LinkedIn.
Based on my experience as an individual on social media who likes to post and sees how others post on there, I think people post there for a reason that they think that's right to them. As long as what they post doesn't cause any controversy.
In this day and age, people posting on social media can reveal what they are as individuals. You won't agree every time what they are posting and that's okay. People are allow to express themselves by posting on social media for any reason. If you want to post something, go for it. No matter if people are going to comment or like it or not. How we express ourselves in this day and age is at our fingertips of our phones now. And I'll continue to post whatever and whenever I like to showcase what I am doing, how am I feeling, and what I support.
