When you think about your hometown, you associate the kinds of people you meet there. For me, I have made my lifetime friends there. For some people, this is where their career starts. For Patrick Buckley, this is where he began rapping. Buckley is part of the group, Loud Mouth Entertainment (LME). The group consists of Buckley, Jake Kraft and Grant Pape.
Through a lot of hate and struggle, LME has been expanding their career and it is starting to make some noise in this small town we all call home. For Buckley, he said his love for music hadn't just started in high school, but it had developed at a much younger age.
"Not many people know this, but when I was about 10 my dad bought me a drum set and I started taking lessons. Right when that happened I developed a love for all types of music," Buckley said. "Through the years I tried a bunch of different things involving music such as dancing, guitar, and piano. Eventually I picked up songwriting and hip hop fit my lyrics and voice best so I stuck with that."
While it may seem easy to start a career in music, but it can't be as simple as one may think. There is a lot that goes into making a career in music, and Buckley understands that feat. When it comes to feedback, Buckley said that was the hardest part of LME's career.
"One-hundred percent the hate. Has easily been the hardest part. When you're starting in a small town everyone usually go with what's being said. So when we started and the first people to hear us said we suck, Buckley said."
Buckley said LME had gotten backlash from individuals making music specifically to deteriorate him and his group. That was one of the harder parts of the beginning of his dream.
"It has taken about four years now for people to change their minds and start showing some support. The hardest part was getting over their hate and to keep chasing what I want," Buckley said.
For his LME's future, he said they have plans to hopefully tour and more. So far, the group has been able to work with other artist as well as a few close friends, like Damon Alexander.
"An artist named "hi-Rez" has done a song with our group. We also performed at a show with him in Denver Colorado. We've made multiple songs with an upcoming artist names "JZac". We've also performed with artist named Mark Battles and futuristic," Buckley said.
There has also been one huge influence for Buckley when it comes to finding a love for what he does.
"[I] can't forget about the man who got me into hip hop Damon Alexander. He's the artist I look up to most because I've watched him start his take off since the day he made a song in my basement in 2012," Buckley said.
So far, LME has recorded a few music videos that will be released within the coming months. Buckley said his music career is his future and him and his group have some plans for the next year as well.
"I plan on taking some much needed steps this year, which I can not announce yet, that will hopefully start generating money to actually make music my official career."
