Bachelorette JoJo Should Go Home Alone

Hear me out...this is my unpopular opinion.

The most tear-filled season of "The Bachelorette" is about to come to an end. Through the ups and many downs of this past season, JoJo’s had to let go of many great guys, like fan favorite Luke. No one saw his exit coming, especially not him, but this probably just means he’s a shoo-in to be the next Bachelor. The two remaining men, Jordan and Robby, have both captured Bachelorette JoJo’s heart so it looks like she’s definitely got her work cut out for her tonight.

Let’s take a look at these two remaining suitors:

Jordan Rogers

Jordan has been a front runner since the first night of the show, when JoJo gave him the first impression rose. Throughout the entire season, Jordan has always been one of JoJo’s favorites but she’s struggled with his fame, his lack of a relationship with his brother Aaron, and there have even been rumors that his last relationship ended because he cheated.

Robby Hayes

Robby was never a serious contender in my eyes, until he was the first to tell JoJo he loved her which meant he was sticking around for a little while longer. Like Jordan, Robby has also been met with some trouble because JoJo knows that his last long term relationship ended just before the show started and his ex-girlfriend claims that he dumped her just to be on the show.

Both of these guys have denied all of the allegations against them and tried to do their best to convince JoJo otherwise. But I’m not sure that I believe either of them.

After expressing that she thinks she could regret her decision to pick either man, to me it’s clear that she’s more in love with Jordan but is afraid of committing to him, while she’s also in love with Robby and sees him as the safe choice. With Jordan she’d be scared that he’d leave her for fame and with Robby she’s scared that she’d always be wondering about Jordan.

One easy theory to have is that Jordan, who has previously expressed his interest in gaining approval from JoJo’s family, is the one who gets to get down on one knee and ride off into the sunset with her.

But it’s also easy to think that because JoJo cries through the words, “I wanted it to be you,” in the finale preview, that maybe she actually sent Jordan home and is going to end up engaged to Robby instead.

Online spoilers point towards her choosing Jordan… In true "Bachelorette" fashion, I could even see her sending Jordan home, crying that it should’ve been him, but then turning around and taking him back. As outlandish as it sounds, that’s the nature of the show. I just can’t imagine how he would take her back so easily after she let him go.

Assumptions and theories aside, it’s easy to draw all of these conclusions based off of a short preview for the episode. But this show is known for having plot twists and manipulated previews and clips, so that makes it hard to know for sure what’s actually going to happen.

Honestly, I’m not too much of a fan of either of these men (JoJo lost after she sent Luke home IMO). I always saw Jordan as a f*ckboy and Robby as a sleaze —and they both desperately need new haircuts and real jobs because “former athlete” is not a current occupation. But there was just too much turmoil, boiling emotion and tears for this to be a truly happy finale. JoJo has made it a point to try to do the right thing and avoid leading anyone on—sending them home mid-date if she knew he wasn’t the one. But I think that this season finale is where she’s going to falter. Sure, this show isn’t real life, but if you’re about to get engaged, even in this inorganic TV scenario, it should be happy, not tear filled and panic attacked.

Whether she chooses either man, even though Jordan is clearly her number one choice, I personally think that JoJo should go home without either one. If she truly loves Jordan she should end up with him, but not in this pressured situation where she’s never been fully convinced that he would never leave her. If she truly loves Robby she should end up with him, but not because he’s her safe and second choice. In the preview you can hear her saying “I’m making a mistake,” and if that’s really how she feels then I don’t think she’s in a place to be accepting anyone’s proposal just yet. That's just not how you start happily ever after.

JoJo has proven to be a sweet girl and she deserves to be happy, annoying as she might have been during this season of the show. But even though she’s ready to settle down and get married, that doesn’t mean she should if her heart is truly this divided.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
