A lot of these are "un-avoid-a-bull."

30 Things You've Probably Done If You're A Student At The University Of South Florida
@usouthflorida

A school of nearly 50,000 people we know that diverse is something USF has covered, we have students from all over the world with all kinds of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Every now and then its cool to see some of the ways being a bull can give us all a common ground. Here is my list of 30 things that you've probably experienced if you are a student at USF.

1. Showed up to take a final for a class you’ve never actually been to for an entire semester.

Freshman year, entry-level humanities course, I don't talk about this time.

2. Panicked because you have a 10-page paper due the next morning and haven’t started even though you’ve had all semester to do it.

Honestly though, who starts a paper on the first day of class that isn't due until the LAST day of class?

3. Have 500 GroupMes for each of the group projects you’ve had to do.

I absolutely hate GroupMe the FIRST thing I'm going to do when I graduate is delete this app!

4. Forgotten the combination to your on-campus mailbox the exact moment you received a letter you’ve been anticipating.

I kept a slip of paper in my wallet because I could never remember my mailbox information, I also could never find this slip of paper.

5. Slowed down in the crosswalk because “if you get hit by a bull-runner your tuition is free.”

Bye-bye crippling student loan debt, hello Bull-Runner.

6. Avoided going to the bookstore until the absolute last day to use your financial aid to avoid the crowd and forgot to get one of your more expensive books.

Suck it up and get all your books early! You can return them if you don't need them, and if you realize you forgot a major one you won't end up coming out of pocket for it.

7. Forgot to return textbooks from off-campus bookstores.

I seriously think they don't even email out reminders anymore.

8. Weren’t able to remember if you borrowed or rented a textbook you can’t find.

Because you need to know if you are supposed to stress about finding it or not.

9. Have had to change your NetID at a random time during the semester and then constantly put in your old password for the next month.

Mine are always some variation of the same password, which means I have a hundred different variations that could all be correct. FML.

10. Gotten an email stating “You’ve signed up to receive a weekly report of some of the notifications from your Canvas account.”

I have no idea when or how I signed up to receive this annoying email, I also don't know how to unsubscribe from receiving this annoying email.

11. Experienced the situation that is Wifi on Campus.

As in, it almost always is not working.

12. Have had to switch to Google Chrome on USF computers when Internet Explorer wasn’t working.

This seriously happened for at least half of my last semester.

13. Have had to switch to Internet Explorer on USF computers when Google Chrome wasn’t working.

And this happened the other half of last semester.

14. Have had neither browser work and have had to have a video or article “explained to you.”

It seriously is NOT the same thing.

15. Have had a professor tell you “I put it in the announcements” when you ask a question about an assignment detail that wasn’t listed in the assignment details section of the canvas where details about assignments belong.

#AssignmentsAreNotAnnouncements2018!

16. Have tried to hold your NetID up to the computer for online Proctored Exams and weren’t able to line it up in the little square guidelines.

And you cant even manually make it capture because how do hold up your ID and maneuver your mouse at the same time?

17. Have had to re-take the camera test on Proctorio 500 times because the software “can’t see you.”

And the tests are timed. I seriously hate this software.

18. Have been unreasonably anxious about your roommate choosing the exact moment you are taking an online proctored test to burst into your room and having your teacher to think you are cheating.

Professors really make it sound like they are actively watching all of us take these exams, I'm scared to look away from my computer for even a second for fear that my teacher would see it and think I was cheating.

19. Have actually had a roommate burst into your room at the exact moment you are taking an online Proctored Exam and had to hope your teacher wouldn't think you were cheating.

Shoutout to my fabulous roommate Sabia!

20. Have spent time trying to figure out if your bedroom could be considered a “quiet place” when your roommates are in the kitchen having cooking wars.

TBH "quiet place" is subject, my apartment complex is never silent.

21. Have experienced the atrocity that is parking on campus.

We pay $200 a year to park on the moon.

22. Haven’t been able to find parking on campus so you gave up and left campus to go get breakfast.

Yes, this actually happened, I went to Perkins. It was delicious.

23. Haven’t been able to find parking on campus so you creepily followed behind people as they walk back to their car hoping to steal their spot.

People do this to me allthe time, it can be extremely creepy.

24. Haven’t been able to find parking on campus so you pulled over outside your building, turned on your emergency lights and ran in to get counted for roll before continuing to search for parking.

I've seen people do this and wished I wasn't deathly afraid of getting towed because it seems pretty efficient TBH.

25. Have wanted to get the cheap $5 shirt at the bookstore but also not wanted to wear the same shirt as everyone else on campus.

My little sister has all of them from all four years because she doesn't care that every freshman at my school is wearing the same shirt.

26. Have wanted to go to Starbucks soooo bad but knowing you won't be on time to class if you do.

The library Starbucks is a black hole filled with tardiness and lattes.

27. Have planned your morning so that you get to Starbucks 45 minutes before your class starts, and still been late to class because of the long line.

BLACK. HOLE.

28. Remembered you could’ve ordered via Tapingo right when you are next in line to order.

Nothing like standing in the line for 45 minutes and then realizing you could've paid 30 more cents to skip everyone.

29. Have been afraid to order via Tapingo because they might not get your order right if you don’t actually tell them with your mouth.

My Starbucks order is sacred, they can't even spell "Houston like Texas," no way.

30. Have heard someone actually use the word "unbelieve-a-bull” in a sentence, in real life.

Incredi-bull!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
