8 Things You'll Understand Too Well If You've Been To A Michigan Football Game

Every Michigan football Saturday should be considered a national holiday.

No one loves Michigan more than Michigan students, fans and alum love Michigan. I'd say 70% of this draws directly from football. Game days are a weekly holiday during the fall, and students will do everything in their power to not have to miss a tailgate or game. Alum drive for hours or fly in to tailgate with thousands on the golf course (or join their kids on campus), and go absolutely nuts in the stands.

And the effort is always so worth it, because all Michigan game days are the best days.

1. The outfits are unmatched

I honestly get so much joy out of making my outfits as extra as possible. We tend to tape cereal to ourselves (a portable breakfast, obviously) or carry around giant inflatables during all of the tailgates.

2. No type of bad weather can stop the tailgates

It doesn't matter if it's 30 degrees and pouring rain. Obviously, we'll all complain about it, but we complain while we're bundling up in 18 layers getting hype to loud music at 8 a.m.

3. There's no such thing as tailgating too early

If it's a night game, I still expect all my friends to be ready to go by 9 a.m. No ifs ands or butts.

4. You high five and say "go blue" to everyone

That includes ice cream men too, of course.

5. Fans do some entertaining stuff

Whether it be chirping until their lungs burst, dying their entire bodies blue and maize, bringing megaphones and other obnoxious toys, or sporting funny signs...Michigan fans could have their own TV show.

6. Alum are just as crazy as students

The amount of parents I have seen shot gunning beers or taking vodka from an ice luge is unreal. Also, I swear most alum start tailgating before we do.

7. Chants and songs are ALWAYS screamed

As in you can absolutely hear cheers from the big house a mile away, no matter if it's the first or 15th time it's been chanted that game.

8. There's food everywhere, and it's too good to be true

Thank you Ann Arbor for not only blessing us with great restaurants, but with amazing street and stadium food as well. Only on game days will I (with no hesitation) spend $10 on a pretzel or bag or street nachos.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
