First of all I would like to apologize for saying the word "overrated", that word has been used so much that it is overrated. Haha, see what I did there? Too soon? Sheesh. OK, so other than eating turkey on Thanksgiving all of our breaks mainly consisted of tearing through the latest Netflix serials on our playlists. So here are a couple of Netflix serials that you wouldn't normally consider to keep everyone warm for Christmas break.
1. Young and Hungry
Food and comedy are an amusing combo for a chilly night-in and this show has both. This Freeform show will keep you on the edge of your seat with its unusual storyline. Also, Yolanda and Elliot's arguments will take your roasting skills to a whole new level.
2. Private Practice
If you love Grey's Anatomy than you probably remember and adore Derek's ex-wife Addison Montgomery. Well after our world-class neonatal surgeon left Seattle she went and got her own spin-off show in L.A. This show explores medical situations from peds to psych, relationships, and of course a couple of main character deaths. It's a requirement for all Shondaland shows. Even if you haven't watched Grey's it's a great watch, especially on break.
3. Scandal
If your one of those people who love drama-action shows that this one should be at the top your list. It's fast-paced storyline will keep you on the edge of your couch to a surprising ending. Not only is there riveting action, but also hot romance scenes between White House Aide Olivia and President Fitz Grant. Let's just say it's not very patriotic.
4. Jane The Virgin
I can truly say that the plot of this storyline is like none other. An engaged virgin becomes artificially inseminated with a gorgeous hoteTl owner's child. And on top of that it has a soap opera-ish part to it. And like any other soap opera there is a love triangle involved. Honestly I can't understand how Jane is confused, I mean look at him!!
5. The Originals
Most people think that serials and spin-offs are crappy and are only beating a dead horse, and eventually that dead horse will be canceled after one season. Surprisingly, The Originals have been said to be than TVD. Action packed storylines, love triangles, and hot vampires with sexy accents. This trifecta allows TO a Chinese cut whatever is in your queue.
6. New Girl
New Girl has said to be the new Friends, and it does its successor justice. The lines of this show are creative and are truly unique that you can't even predict what a character is going to say or do. It also gives that feeling that even though everything is completely messed up that it'll all be alright.
7. Friends
Friends is a classic TV serial that will never fade away. This does counter the title of this article, but Friends can never be topped. People are always saying how they'd change ships. otps and storylines but this show was perfect. I have no other words to describe it. You can re-watch this serials and still feel like you're watching it for the first time.
So now you have an arsenal ready for the holidays to keep you toasty and entertained. But during that time go outside and spend some time with the people you love, Netflix will be there when you get back. If you spend your whole time watching Friends then you really haven't gotten the message of the show.
