Whether you’re listening to it while studying for finals or driving home for Christmas break, these songs are guaranteed to brighten your day. I am an expert at Christmas music because I'm that weird person that listens to it all year so don't worry about the legitimacy of this list. Enjoy!
"Mary, Did You Know?" - Pentatonix - They sleigh this version of this song.
"Winter Wonderland/Here Comes Santa Claus" - Snoop Dogg and Anna Kendrick ("Pitch Perfect 2") - It's a ridiculous song, but it's catchy and Anna Kendrick so what more do you really need?
"Cold December Night" - Michael Buble - He makes disappointment of spending Christmas alone sound so beautiful and happy.
"Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!" - *NSYNC - A must have on every Christmas playlist for the boy band lovers.
"Happy Christmas, War Is Over" - John Lennon and Yoko Ono - This one is on here for all the dads who tolerate Christmas music to keep the peace in the family.
"Christmas Is All Around Me" - Bill Nighy ( "Love Actually" ) - Another silly song, but it's a must have for all the "Love Actually" fans.
"Silent Night" - Josh Groban - I'm sorry, but this puts every other version of the song to shame.
"O Holy Night" - *NSYNC - Everyone needs more teenage JT in their life.
"All I Want For Christmas Is You" - Mariah Carey - Bless her for this song. What would Christmas be like without it?
"White Winter Hymnal" - Pentatonix - Technically, this isn't strictly a Christmas song which is how I argue that it's okay to listen to it year around.
"Baby It’s Cold Outside" - Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel ("Elf") - The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing (this borderline creepy song) loud for all to hear!
"White Christmas" - Idina Menzel - You're welcome for not including "Let It Go."
"Christmas" (Baby Please Come Home) - Michael Buble - It's perfect for you want to get all up in your feelings this holiday season.
"Ave Maria" - Josh Groban - Your grandma probably loves this song so we're keeping it.
"Christmas Must Be Something More" - Taylor Swift - Listen to this when you need to be reminded or to remind someone of what Christmas is actually about.
"Let It Snow" - Boyz II Men - Again, for the boy band lovers out there. You are all special snowflakes.
"Blue Christmas" - Elvis Presley - You have to include this song. It's a classic and your grandma will be so disappointed if you don't.
"The First Noel" - Carrie Underwood - It's only fitting that an actual living angel is put on the playlist.
"Do You Hear What I Hear?" - Martina McBride - This is the Christmas song that your mom loves and she's not wrong for loving it.
"Jingle Bell Rock" - Bobby Helms - Show off your dance skills at Christmas with your family by doing the completely inappropriate "Mean Girls" dance.
"Wonderful Christmastime" - Paul McCartney - Your dad will also be grateful for this song on your playlist.
"Last Christmas" - Florence + the Machine - This is how this song should be sung. It's not exactly a happy song so why does everyone sing it so cheerfully?
"I'll Be Home For Christmas" - Josh Groban - A great reminder that not everyone greats to spend the holidays with their family and we should be grateful for the opportunity to do so.
"Mistletoe" - Justin Bieber - This one is for that person (possibly a friend or family member, or maybe it's even you) that still thinks JB is the best ever.
"Have Yourself A Very Merry Christmas" - Michael Buble - Actually, you know just go listen to the whole Michael Buble Christmas album.
Hopefully, all of these songs will help put you into the Christmas spirit and brighten your terribly long days at the end of this semester. Let me know what your favorite Christmas songs are!
