With spring break nearing us in a matter of a week, my roommate and I found ourselves plan-less but dying to get out of Ohio for just a few days. Spontaneously, we decided to find a cheap Airbnb and head to the Country Music Capital: Nashville, Tennessee.

Late March was the PERFECT time to go, let me tell you. The sun was shining and it was about 65 degrees throughout our whole trip. So if you're planning to go in the future, trust me when I say, the weather was perfect considering all the walking we did.

We arrived in Nashville around 4:00 PM and decided to head over to 12 South, a popular strip of shops and restaurants just outside downtown. 12 South contains the infamous "I Believe Nashville" Mural, placed right next to Reese Witherspoon's boutique, "Draper Jams."

Just down the street from the mural was a restaurant, tucked away on the corner called, "The Flipside." We enjoyed the best creamsicle floats, and I can't forget to shoutout the tater tot nachos. Yep. You heard me right. Tater tot nachos...

The next morning, we headed back to 12 South for the famous "Five Daughter's Bakery" to get homemade donuts to start our day.

Stuffed from the delicious donuts, we took an Uber to Downtown to explore. Before we started on Broadway, we walked up the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge to overlook the city and capture some Instagram worthy shots.

We spent the next couple days walking up and down Broadway. The bars have no cover, so you can walk right in and listen to live music at every single place. We hopped from place to place, enjoying appetizers and rising country singers. Some notable places were all of the celebrity bars and "Tequila Cowboy." We ended up spending hours in each place, just soaking in the community, music and great food.

For dinner, we went to "Burger Up" to try out the famous homemade ketchup and fry flight. It was phenomenal. We stopped in local boutiques around the area and called it a night.

Our last morning there we checked out "Biscuit Love." Churros, chocolate dipping sauce, biscuits, and incredible gravy. It was so worth it.

Between country music and eating phenomenal food, it was a trip I have zero complaints about. It was so fun to go for a long weekend and experience Nashville the way we did! Some other things that are worth checking out are East Nashville, Goo Goo's Desert Shop, No Bake Cookie Dough, and The Gulch.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
