"Music is the strongest form of magic."

The Ultimate Fall Rainy Day Playlist
Brette Deavis

I love music so much and I think the only thing I love more than music itself is discovering new music. Spotify is the best thing that has ever been created in my personal opinion. I love making playlists based on my mood or the weather outside. Since it's fall and starting to get into that cold and cozy weather I thought I would share a playlist to compliment those perfect chilly, rainy fall days.

1. "Joik #3" - Blind Pilot

Blind Pilot is the definition of fall music. Here is my apology now for how much Blind Pilot is on this playlist... But also really not that sorry because they are fabulous.

2. "Just One" - Blind Pilot

"Let all things be as they should"

3. "To Build A Home" - The Cinematic Orchestra

That song that's in all the new state farm commercials... It's actually Beautiful. Listen to it.

4. "Winter Song" - The Head and The Heart

Catch me screaming at people to listen to The Head and The Heart till the day I die.

5. "When A Heart Breaks" - Ben Rector

"This isn't easy, this isn't clear and you don't need Jesus till you're here"

6. "93 Million Miles" - Jason Mraz

One of the most underrated Jason Mraz songs there ever was.

7. "She" - Ed Sheeran

Nothing screams cold and rainy days like Ed Sheeran's Music.

8. "Samson" - Regina Spektor

I heard a girl sing this song on The Voice and immediately fell in love.

9. "When I'm With You" - Ben Rector

Fun Fact: This is Jojo and Jordan's (from the bachelorette) song.

10. "Real Love Baby" - Father John Misty

The only way to accurately describe Father John Misty is Majestic AF.

11. "All The Pretty Girls" - Kaleo

On time this band opened for a band I was seeing and they were really cool.

12. "Work Song" - Hozier

Cant go wrong with Hozier, you just can't.

13. "Broadripple is Burning" - Margot & The Nuclear So and So's

I mainly love this song because this band is from Indy and is singing about OUR Broadripple. But it is also a real great song and the band's name is fantastic.

14. "3 Rounds and A Sound" - Blind Pilot

Maybe my favorite song of all time. It's perfect. Listen to it, Cry about it, and obsess over it as much as me.

15. "I Can't Make You Love Me" - Mark Masri

Beautiful. Haunting. Nothing else needs to be said.

16. "Photographs & Memories" - Jason Reeves

I was taught a dance to this like sophomore year of high school, and I have been in love with this song ever since.

17. "Turning Page" - Sleeping at Last

Ok I have a confession, A lot of these songs are from contemporary routines from So You Think You Can Dance but what can I say?! They pick good music! No shame.

18. "She's Going to Find Me Here" - Melee

"Now I don't have to push myself through desert sands, 'Cause she's going to find me here"

19. "Wake Me Up" - Ed Sheeran

UGH. The lyrics of this song are just genius. Ed Sheeran is a musical genius, enough said. "I could do without a tan on my left hand where my forth finger meets my knuckle".

20. "Fall" (Live) - Justin Bieber

couldn't leave this playlist without some old school J Biebz.

21. "Gravity" - John Mayer

Love John Mayer. Love this song.

22. "Unchained Melody" - The Righteous Brothers

An Oldie but a Goodie.

Hope you enjoy this playlist and it gets you through all those cold & rainy fall days!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
