Thanksgiving break is a tease. For four days I just relaxed, I did cute holiday stuff with my friends and family and then suddenly here I am. I’m back and all at once I have a million things to do, the pressure is on more than ever, but all I can think about is Christmas! With the holiday break so close it's so hard to focus on finals, all I want to do is eat holiday foods and watch cute movies. Here are the thoughts that have been racing through my mind since the second I got back on campus.

1. Only a few more weeks to go!

2. How long can I make it without doing work?

3. Do I actually need to study for my finals this semester?

4. Oh jeez, when are my finals?

5.Oh no. I have so much to do.

6. I wanna go back home.

7. How am I supposed schedule studying around my Christmas movie marathons?

8. Alright, how many days until Christmas?

9. How do I go about acquiring money for gifts and decorations?

10. I can't buy anyone gifts this year.

11. I'm so excited for Holiday parties!

12. Oh wait, I can't go to any parties because I have 13 exams and 80 papers due next week.

13. I’ll just drown my sorrows in Starbucks holiday flavors.

14. Starbucks took all of my money.

15. At least I have my fun holiday outfits!

16. Oh wait, no one will see me all day because I'll be crying in the library.

17. I took the holiday season for granted as a child. Is there a way I could not do any of this and just go home to my dog?

18. All I want for Christmas is a GPA that doesn't drop.

19. Okay, okay. Just think about presents, think about your family and friends and doing no school work for a month.

20. Power through for just three weeks and then it's the most wonderful time of the year!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
