Twenty Life Lessons From Grey's Anatomy

We have all heard of the TV show Grey’s Anatomy. Well into its thirteenth season this November, Grey’s Anatomy has had a great run. With fans all around the United States ranging from young to old. Grey’s has inspired and enthused, kept us in suspense and broken our hearts. Fans have followed the scared interns all the way from their first day at Seattle Grace to their current jobs all around the globe. We cried when we watched Izzy Stevens find her cancer, we were shocked when the shooter killed over twenty in the hospital. We smiled when George and Torres got married, and cried when they split just one season later. But hope wasn’t lost. Callie met Arizona and had a happy run with her and mark. We have watched babies be born and patients die. But what has all of this brought us? Grey’s Anatomy has taught us so much through its characters. 3. “If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more.” – Dr. Christina Yang

4. You don’t have to talk about everything. Or as Dr. Christina Yang says, “I don’t discuss everything to death.”

10. “I hate men. They’re stupid.” -Dr. Christina Yang

11. “Bad things happen, and you have to move past it. Leave it behind. The sooner the better. Or it’ll eat away at you and stop you from moving forward.” -Dr. Miranda Bailey

12. “Who here feels like they have no idea what they’re doing?” -Dr. George O’Malley

18. “Sometimes, we have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore, until we finally understand for ourselves... that knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and that even the biggest failure, even the worst most intractable mistake, beats the hell out of never trying.” -Dr. Meredith Grey.

19. “Don’t let fear keep you quiet. You have a voice, so use it. Speak up. Raise your hands. Shout your answers. Ake yourself heard. Whatever it takes, just find your voice and when you do, fill the damn silence.” -Dr. Meredith Grey.
