‘Twas the night before recruitment, and all through the dorms
Many girls were awake, thinking about their recruitment forms
The dresses were hung by their closets with care
In anticipation for Greek life that started at the involvement fair
The students were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of small talk and conversations danced in their heads
Active members stayed up all-night long
Because otherwise they had nightmares about the welcome song
And when the day comes, it will really be here
And even though in reality there is nothing to fear
Everyone gets nervous about choices so monumental
“Not four years, for life” is very sentimental
Everyone knows open house round will be lots of fun
Girls all sure they’d have good conversations and think "This is the one!”
And then there’s philanthropy day to showcase all of the causes
And talk of good deeds can fill awkward pauses
And last, but certainly not least, preference round
Where all of the true homes are really found
You will get to see a little bit of the ritual
And find the sorority best for the individual
So there’s no need to stress, everything will work out
You’ll find a group of friends that makes you scream and shout
And then when you finally get matched at Bid Day
There will be so much to celebrate; hooray!
And so we impatiently wait for it to arrive
We are all so excited to see Greek life thrive
We can’t think about school, we can’t worry about tests
We just think about future sisters and how much we’re blessed
So it’s time to go to bed, and to finally get some sleep
Please rest your voice, we don’t want to hear a peep!
But when you run home, scream with all of your might
“Happy recruitment to all!” Your new home is in sight!
