If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13
An Ode to Love!
The purpose of this writing is to solute Love! And Honor my baby cousin Latoya and her new husband Marcus. Theirs is not just any love but a blessed sacred love that embodies the clear definition and the true meaning described in the verses above.
Marcus,
A man of God, who knew that in his search for a wife and sacred love two things are nonnegotiable.
The first, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord." Proverbs 18:23 NKJV
Secondly, "A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her." — Max Lacado.
He also understood that his love must protect, provide, and lead with the wisdom demonstrated by Boaz.
Latoya,
A virtuous woman who understands her value. Her focus has always been on the Kingdom of God. She remained obedient and walked forward in accordance with God's will. Scripture proclaims: "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies?" Proverbs 31:10 KJV
She understood that love trusts and works tirelessly and moves forward in faith leaving the past behind just as Ruth.
In life, sometimes we encounter deception or heartbreak that in some instances shatter lives. Therefore, if you have personally experienced such deception; you learn to recognize love. Latoya and Marcus radiate with true Love!
When God says yes, nothing can prevent destiny. Absolutely, nothing else can stand in the way of Love. Be confident and remember: 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:39 NLT
So, continue to pray, read, and study the word of God together. Seek him in all things. He will continue to order your steps and bless you with the promises he planned for you. He said: "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5
Final Thoughts:
Love encourages. Love motivates. Love guides. Love leads. Love is careful with each other's hearts. Love trusts. Love is secure. Love prays. Love declares itself to the world!
But most importantly Love leads to Salvation and Unapologetically follows the will of God.
