Picturing what your future will look like usually results in two different reactions:
1). Excitement. You are excited for what it will bring and what is to come. Excited for the people who will come into your life, and just excited for the fact that the future is going to be great and so you start planning into it.
2). Stress. You are not sure what you will be doing at the end of the current day so how are you supposed to plan tomorrow or even weeks in advance?
One reaction is not better than the other and neither one has the best outcome.
However, we have no control over our future what so ever. We have no control over what will happen in the next two hours. There is nothing wrong with planning and wanting things to go a certain way, but we always need to keep in mind with who has the final say in our life, God. If something good happens that makes us excited for the future, then plan and be excited!!! Love life and live in the happiness of what is going on! Just be ready that our plans may not always be God’s plan and His plans may not be something we agree with in the moment. God though has the best vantage point of our life and knows what is best for the rest of our life. In the moment we will most likely be questioning Him as to why He did that and why it had to happen in that specific way.
It is perfectly okay to doubt and wonder why this is going in your life and it always seems that bad things or changes all come at once and in the worst moments as well. God will never put us through anything that we cannot handle, plus he will be by our side through it all too. Sometimes we can be blinded with everything that is going on in our life and our focus can be taken off of what is truly important.
Life is a crazy ride and everyone handles different things and goes through different things. Don’t be afraid to let your emotions show and allow people in to help you get through everything as well as relying on God. Bad news is never good to hear whether it affects you personally, or affects a loved on.
Trust in God to see the bigger picture in your life and rely on Him in the good times and the bad ones. There are going to be times when life simply is not fair, or even go the way that we planned. The best thing is to learn, grow and move on. God’s love for us is so enormous that He only wants what is best.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8
When times get tough let God be your support. It may take a while and step-by-step you will begin to see the bigger picture taking shape. So continue to rejoice in the happy times and plan for that future but be ready if God has a better plan for you.
