We all have heard by now. The President made a powerful speech Tuesday night and the world heard his plea. The real struggle now for the President now will be to deliver on the seemingly endless list of topics he has promised the American people he will be working on.
A condensed list of the issues Trump mentioned he wanted to look into during his Presidency follow: a new office as part of the state department which will aid families that have lost a loved one or have been victimized by an illegal immigrant, the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, paid maternity leave, increased focus on women's rights issues in the workplace, the elimination of ISIS, the reconstruction of America's infrastructure, a revamp of America's education system in terms of private and public schooling, and decreasing crime and increasing quality of living in America's inner cities.
The list of things for him to do is long.
But Trump has to be given credit that although he has much to do, he has accomplished a lot in the forty days that he has been in office. Much of it through executive order, but, he is still a President that took his power to office the day he was elected PEOTUS. Now POTUS, it is clear that trump will not be wary on accomplishing all that he says he will for the country.
Counter to what many women's right groups might say; Trump directly addressed the issue of paid maternity leave in an address to congress. This should be highlighted as a feat for people that have been fighting for this right that nearly every other industrialized and developed nation already has.
The speech overall took well with the people. Even a CNN poll showed that 78% of people left watching the speech feeling better about their odds under the new President.
