At the beginning of the Presidential Election when I found out that Donald Trump was going to run for President, I remember myself saying, "I'd love to see him try." A few months later, I saw he had actually gained quite a following and I believe I turned to my mom and I told her, "Mom if he actually gets voted into office we are moving to Canada." I never thought he would get as far as he has because his ideals and his promises are above and beyond. They are so crazy that I think Hitler would say, "Hey dude take it easy." He wants to build a wall so no one can get in. I don't believe we are in the movie The Hunger Games. Sometimes I wonder how he thinks this country was founded. Does he know that the white man wasn't just here one day? Doesn't he know that the Europeans were actually the first "immigrants" because we didn't just pop up on this land mass? We were the ones who brought it upon ourselves to infest this country and take it from the people who were already here. So when he says he wants to build a wall and deport eleven million people because they are criminals and rapists, he should look back on our history. We weren't exactly saints.
Right now I'm watching the DNC or The Democratic National Convention on CNN Live. This Presidential election is the first election I am old enough to understand, the previous ones I was too young to really grasp what was going on. Now that I am heading into my adulthood and becoming more and more acquainted with politics, I'm realizing how this election is so very interesting to watch. For me this election is clear. Would you rather vote in a well educated woman who has more than quality experienced or a man who uses more foundation than I do? There has been countless times this year where we have seen Donald Trump make a fool of himself; wanting to create a wall, deport 11 million people, mocking a disabled a reporter and still to this day refusing to apologize. Lets not forget the infamous Trump University where he scammed thousands of lower class families, students and the elderly out of thousands of their own hard working money. If you watched the DNC on CNN then you saw Cheryl Lankford, a widow whose husband died while overseas, state that the money she received from the federal government after her husbands death was used to enroll herself in the university. She then claimed that she was cheated out of her money and that her mentor did not know a thing about real estate. She then said, "I'm here because America deserves to know the truth." If you don't know Donald Trump is currently under investigation of his university for illegal business practices that resulted in a lawsuit filed in 2013. The investigation is still ongoing as we speak.
If I was voting in this election, I would give my vote to Hilary Clinton. Why? Because she was the First Lady and Secretary of State; she has been more than active in our government to where her becoming President and becoming a role model for our current and future generation is more than a welcoming idea. If you compare her ideals with Trumps, the main values I notice are that she wants to unite our country and come together as one. Trump wants to separate us, hence building a wall to keep out "criminals, rapists, and terrorists", who are people who actually just want to come here and live a better life. Senator Cory Booker said, "If you wanna go fast go alone, if you wanna go far go together."
