The definition of strict parents varies from family to family.

Sometimes, I watch an episode of "World's Strictest Parents" and I either scoff or feel a little more grateful for my parents. However, no matter the intensity, I found that these 13 things are some traits that are common across all strict families

1. You're always the first to leave at any gathering or occasion.

2. What's a sleepover?

Followed by:

"Why? You have your own bed here!"

3. Your mail looks like this.

7. You have FOMO pretty much all the time.

10. Your reaction to when your friend disrespects their parents.

11. Retweeting tweets like "going on spontaneous adventures with friends at 2 am >>>" knowing damn-well that you're not going anywhere at 2 am.

12. Sitting on your parents' bed and pretending to be interested in their shows before you ask to do something.

13. Despite it all, you can agree that it has made you into a better human being.
